60ch
Is there a residual pressure valve built into the master cylinder of the 1930 and up Chrysler products? Thanks, Terry
ply33
There is one in the master cylinder of my '33 Plymouth. Same rebuild kit for '33 up into the early 40's if I recall correctly. And, again if I recall correctly, the internal parts for the master cylinder repair kit in the parts list is the same for '28 through '33.

Rusty_OToole
They used a residual pressure valve to keep a slight pressure on the seals and prevent fluid seeping out. About 1975 they changed the design of the wheel cylinder cups to incorporate a spring for this purpose. After that they did not need the valve.
