Guest 53Novice
The power steering fluid is low on my 1953 Chrysler New Yorker. The manual states the fluid specification is SAE 10w. I have checked on line and in the local stores and that is a pretty rare oil to find. Does anyone know of an alternative to use?
tom1954
I have a 1954 New Yorker and the P S fluid was low when I bought the car. I used regular modern day power steering fluid and have had no problems with the power steering.
Rusty_OToole
Tractor oil, TDH type, ISO32 or ISO22 grade. Good for your PS, Fluid Drive and M6 transmission. Can be found at Walmart, farm stores and auto parts stores.TDH stands for Transmission, Differential and Hydraulic oil.
whtbaron
I've used Trans-Hydraulic with good results, but it gets a little thick in cold climates, so I prefer to use Automatic Transmission Fluid...usually Dexron II.
