jerry kaiser
I just found out that my tank is beyond repair. I think I read on this site that a couple guys have used 40 something Chevy tanks. Was it much problem to to adapt? and who has them? Thanks for any info on this. studeq
1936 President Eight Coupe model 2CYes, and I need one for a '36 President or Dictator (they are the same). Actually I believe the tanks for 1936 and '37 are the same except for the intlet. The '37 has it on the right or passengers side and the '36 on the driver's side. My car above. drdon
Go back and find the post by dkstud37d, ( I think that is right) from 2007. I followed his lead, andinstalled this tank on my Coupe Express. If needed and requested, I will post some pics of it as installed, with the changes I had to make, etc. Hope this helps, and that this tank is still available. SMB
I used a 41 chevy tank on my 37 President Coupe. I got the tank from Tanks Inc. I believe. I used a flexible connector from Bob Drake to connect the tanks fill tube to the original tube which extends through the fender. I had to make an additional support for it. The tank fit very well. I know the 36 inlet is on the drivers side but maybe this information will help in finding something which will work. I'm adding some pictures of the install. drdon
Here are some pictures. They may be self explanatory, but if not, let me know what is confusing and I will try to explain. I originally cut a hole in the crossbar of the frame to runthe outgoing line, then realized that the tank "sucked" right up to the frame and the outletis above the frame. I did have to use a tubing bender to bend the tube to the left to get it to match up with the line going to the fuel pump.
