Dropping the tank is the hardest part.Note that '63 sender is different from '65 and later.Note A/C car is slightly different from non-A/C car.I don't remember who has them for sale. petelempert Posted August 9, 2012 Share Posted August 9, 2012 I spent the better part of last year chasing down gas-related squawks in my 63. I think I had my tank out about 6 times. Learn from my mistakes. Drain as much gas a you can from the tank, then jack up the back of the car (so it's nose down) to keep gas from periodically and spontaneously dripping out the lines once the tank is out. Make sure your ground connection is clean, dry and tight when you go to re-conect it. Try taking two bungee cords and clip them in the place of the tank straps so that they will support the tank as you loosen the strap bolts...your head will thank you later. Good luck.
