wht89reatta
I recently had the top caliper slider bolt break while I was going down the road. I was just wondering if anyone else had an issue like this.
KDirk
I've had bolts seize in the sleeve of the caliper, resulting in uneven wear of the pads. Can be a real dog to get out too. I've never [yet] had one shear or break off. KDirk
padgett
I did. Caliper then rotated off the remaining bolt and punched a hole in the wheel causing an explosive blowout.
Guest Mc_Reatta
You are allowed to replace these from time to time. Should come with reman caliper, or are readily available from Ronnie's store or your FLAPS. Coat with a layer of grease before installing to keep corrosion away and allow things to slide. Should be inspected with each pad change.
Vincent Vega
It is usually recomended they get replaced when you replace pads. I will reuse them if they are in good shape. Sounds like the last one who did brakes on that car reused marginally good ones. No, I have never had one break. They are almost always way overpriced.
