  1. Dave89 if you are referring to the bypass hoses for the heater core I have checked them and they don't appear to be the source of my leak.
  2. My car has had a smallish coolant leak for a while that seems to have gotten real big lately. Tonight on my way home my engine hydro locked as I was pulling into my driveway. None of the hoses had burst and the water pump is only a couple years old. I am fairly certain that the intake manifold gasket is leaking. Are there any good guides to aid in the intake manifold gasket replacement or is this just a dive in and get it done kind of job? Any thoughts or advice would be very helpful and I thank you in advance.
  3. It was most likely stuck closed but opened up after I let it sit for a while. There is no oil in the radiator so it is most likely an intake gasket issue. I've been out of the auto industry for some time now so it slipped my mind that that's what it could be. Thanks for the advice guys.
  4. There is no coolant on the ground. It usually runs around 180 to 189 when warmed up. Im fairly sure it's burning coolant as there are no visible leaks yet every couple of weeks I'll have to add coolant.
  5. Also the blend door is working fine and I'm only getting tepid air everywhere. The temperature control seems to be working fine as it switches from cold to room temperature when I move it from max cool to max heat.
  6. Im pretty sure I have a head gasket issue so I have to fill my coolant on the regular but even when it has coolant on max heat it still on puts out tepid air. I need to flush out the heater core as yesterday my thermostat froze causing my heater hose to burst, so I figured I'd do that before I put on new hoses. I just need my car to last a few more months until I can park her for a proper rebuild.
  7. Hey there guys. I have been experiencing very little heat coming from the vents. I need to fluch me heater core but I have no idea which is the inlet and outlet. Can anyone help me figure which is which? any help is much appreciated.
  8. It is leaking out of the bottom of where the pump meets the housing.
  9. Thank you guys for the advice, I will let you all know of my findings when I get ahold of company later next week.
  10. Also any tips on replacing the pump assembly would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Hello, I am in serious need of a brake system overhaul. I.E. My pump is leaking very badly. I have a replacement pump assembly from a junkyard reatta but I am in need of a new accumulator. I found this one http://powerbrakeservice.net/bracforlimav.html I just need to know if this will fit on the reatta. If not is there somewhere I can find a proper fitting one?
  12. I've decided to just get the replacement pipe for the Riviera and do a little cutty splicey number on it.
  13. Kind of a silly question as it could probably answered by any local exhaust shop here but I'll ask it anyways. Does anyone know if Direct fit exhaust pipes are still made or available? I have a hole right where the welded on plate is attached.
  14. Good idea. Will do, thanks again.
  15. So I just went out and checked the brake pump. The accumulator was extremely hot to the touch. So I unplugged the pump to let the whole thing cool down for a moment. I plugged it back in after about a minute and the motor was still running all the time. I unplugged it again. I went to get a couple of tools to check the relays. and when I plugged the pump back in it ran for about 15 seconds and then shut off. I will keep an eye on this in the next few days so as to give anyone else with a similar situation help in the future.
  16. Motor is still running 2 hours later. I will go out right now and try the relays.
  17. Hello, today on my drive home from work the diagnostic center came up and said that I had low ABS pressure, the pedal still felt fine and it still stopped normally. When I got home and shut the car off I noticed the master cylinder pump was still running. Is this just an ABS pressure sensor issue or is there something more going on? Any help is appreciated. -Chris-
  18. It's between the cat and the muffler. Some of the welded on shield is rusting away at the weld points and it starting to affect the back pressure.
  19. I have a hole in one of my exhaust pipes. I was wondering what the standard size of the was so i don't have to cut it before i have replacement pipe.
  20. I recently had the top caliper slider bolt break while I was going down the road. I was just wondering if anyone else had an issue like this.
  21. it took me a second but after i figured it out i threw up a little in my mouth
  22. on both my riviera and reatta the phone antenna was mounted on the top middle of the back window...
  23. two words describe that car, wow
  24. deff metal lines as i have had to relpace it before, but be careful of the float as i kinda buggered it up when i put it back in and had to find a replacement sending unit, i did eventually find one but it was around $300 from my neighborhood oreillys. mind you that was about 3 years ago
