Thank you all for your help so far with my car. My brother and I think we have found out what is causing the clutch from releasing. Please look at the picture and you will see that there is a gap of about 3/8"+ or 9.52mm that is between the clutch shaft and the speedometer drive gear. If we fill the gap with a screw driver, the clutch releases perfectly. We are trying to figure out if we can shim the sliding gear shaft in the speedo gear or should we shim at the thrust washer?

I guess we might be looking at this all wrong any help would be appreciated...

Greg

I questioned Nina and she denies taking any parts... It seems that the sliding gear shaft is short.
