Jolly_John
Hi, Gang. Does someone have a current aftermarket manufacturer part number for the rear brake hose on a 1940 Buick. My research shows that this rear hose fits:--1940, all series--1942, 40, 50, 60, and 70 series--1946-1949, all seriesThanks much for any help. bobj49f2
Do you know if the hose is the same used on the '37 Buick? The old Torque Tube magazine listed a NAPA part that works for the '37. Here's the description:Brake Hose End Type : Female - 7/16"-24 & Female - 7/16"-24Brake Hose Length : 9.875"Part#26960
Jolly_John
Very nice of you to give it a shot, Bob. The 1940 Buick uses a different rear hose than the '37. My memory is that your rear hose number also works on the 1938 and 1939 40 and 60 series cars.....but doesn't extend to 1940.I'm real sure the hose number I'm after is correct for the just Buicks listed in my post above. Thanks again for taking the time to respond. John

Jolly_John
Hi, Mike. Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I do not have an original available to work from or match (it's a long story!). Best, John
