Has hand crank, has engine primers next to plugs, I never seen an engine like this , and my friends haven't either, thanks, hupps4everATTACH]125804[/ATTACH] Edited April 12, 2012 by Hupps4ever (see edit history)

Chris Paulsen
I agree. Maxwell is the only engine I've ever seen with the removeable (in one big casting) valve seat assembly like that. 1915-era.
Larry Schramm
Buick also had the captured valves and cage '15 & prior. Here is a pix of a '12 enginehttp://forums.aaca.org/f165/1912-buick-speedster-barn-find-300983.html
Layden B
Larry, The valves and valve seats screw out of the casting in the Buick. Green engine at top has plugs that are unscrewed to allow access to the top of the valve which can then be removed thru the hole. The plugs have threaded holes in center of each, typically a spark plug screwed into one and a priming cup into the other for each cylinder. Guest Hupps4ever
I want to thank everyone for their help--it has been comfirmed to be a 1915 +/- Maxwell--with all the main and rod caps missing!
