a little rubbing alcohol on a cloth should get the wax off. if that doesn't work, a little "goo gone" (i use the orange pump spray) might do it, but don't leave it on for long, or get it on the paint. it could also be covered with "restore black".

as far as the rubber decay, i've used permatex black silicone sealant, but not on any car i wanted to keep for long...

those are possible "cheapo" fixes. best to replace the rubber...

The rubber surrounds on the windshield and back glass are encapsulations bonded and integral to the glass units. They're not replaceable without replacing the glass.
