karasmer
Hey all you emblem collectors out there, do you have and would you part with a radiator emblem for a 29 Durant (the gold and blue one with a capital D insert)?
TheMoneyPit
Gold & Blue or Blue & White - like the one at the rabbits foot?
durant frank
Hi....There are 2 different emblems that seem to be used interchangeably for 1928 & 1929. One has a white D and one a blue D. See the attached picture.Check out the Durant Motors Automobile Club. karasmer
Thanks, I visited the Durant forum, quite a discussion over the correct one. I think the emblem with a white D is the better looking of the two but either seem to be correct. Now if I could only find one preferably not restored. Durant Mike
Blue background, white "D" is for 1929. Other was used mostly on the 1928 model year.
TheMoneyPit
Same thing only different... that one is near the Chevrolet script.A good friend offered me a radiator shell with an emblem on it, but I declined it as I have both color variations in my collection - I do not remember which variation it was. The shell was in VERY bad shape, but the emblem might be OK.Send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll ask if he still has it - I'll be seeing him on Sunday so I should be able to PM you again on Monday. In the meantime they show up on e-bay frequently, you might do well there too. karasmer
Hey thanks Moneypit, I sent you a pm, I hope there are not reproductions of these out there. My general rule is if it's used it should be original (most cases) anyway.
TheMoneyPit
Restoration Supply lists a reproduction Durant but I think it will be the earlier shield version which would be easier to repro - the late ones have too much detail in the dragon at the top so it would be more obvious if reproduced.I talked with Pete - he'll bring the shell to our T Club's annual meeting and come up with a price which I'll pass onto your e-mail address. You may not want to pay the shipping on the shell - it was really bad or I'd have taken it for a display board.
