CTX-SLPR
Howdy,I'm almost all the way done with my disc brake upgrade and I just realized that the 73-87 C10 HD rotors I'm using have the later hub register while the wheels still have the larger register. Will I be alright with running the stock steelies as lug centric? I plan on getting some 65 wheels (or hub centric rings) in the future but I'm trying to go on a road trip this weekend and trying to decide to complete the swap or just use the drums. Thanks,
RivNut
I've been running '67 rally wheels on my '63 for a number of years. I had to remove the register ring from the rally wheels so they would fit the earlier hubs. The wheels are only centered using the lug nuts and I've never had a problem.Ed
petelempert
Ditto. The 69 wheels look great on my 63 and have no issues. They should fit but you'll have to cut out the register rings. My tip...lay the wheels on the ground chrome side facing down, use a sawzall to cut the rings in several places, then they will knock out easily. The spot weld gives way easily once you've cut the ring in a few spots. Trying to use an air chisel is a really violent way to remove them and probably not good for the wheel. Make sure to clean the leftover welds and repaint before installing. PRL
