Guest cben09
A valve guide should not be hard to make,,In the shop I found it faster and cost effective to make guides from bar stock,,,than order from warehouse,,Oh yes if you bore with a half round drill it saves reaming,,Trick,,,nudge the drill back with the toolpost,,and start drill,,then back off til it finds the center,,They tend to wobble on entry, once started,,its real nice,,,Ben
rbk
Most valve quide were made from cast iron and were porous to retainer some oil forvalve lubrication. If you want to make your own , you should used sintered bronze.Cold roll steel is not porous.I am not an expert and invite comments from the old timers.Robert Kapteyn

Guest studepeople
I agree with Robert, but also cast iron has a larger carbon content and in itself acts as a lubricant.......
