Thank you for pointing out the rocker panel on the passenger side. It was dirty when the photo was taken and looked like a shadow. When clean it looks normal. Interior black is the original color. I'm currently working on converting the power seat to electric using a linear actuator motor. It is much less expensive than going back to hydraulic. Tom

My 1949 76C was converted to 12v when purchased. The original hydraulic pump was not on the car so the front seat adjuster was nonoperational. The top had been converted to aftermarket pump and cylinders and cannot easily be used to move the seat. I am thinking that a linear actuator motor could replace the old hydraulic cylinder. They are relatively inexpensive.

I would like to replace the hydroelectric cylinder on the front seat of my roadmaster convertible with a linear actuator electric motor and am wondering if anybody else has done this. The pump was not with the car when i bought it in 2001 and restoration of the hydroelectric system would too expensive for my budget. The windows have already been converted to electric motors.

I'm looking for the plastic escutcheon / riser used with the window cranks and door handles on a 1942 Buick Special 40A (48S family sedan). There is part of one left on the window crank of my car as seen in the picture. Even a picture of a whole one would help. Thanks Tom

Buick introduced a positive crankcase ventilation system (PCV) in 1941 that had a tube running from the top of valve cover to the air intake for the carburetors. This was also used on the 1942 models but by the time they came out Buick recommended that the PCV system be converted back to the pre 1941 system that required removing the tube from the top of the valve cover to the carburetor air intake. The shop manual describes how to do this and states that the new system caused "coking" of the carburetors. What exactly was meant by the term coking?

1941 Buick sedanets were made in both A series (118" wheelbase) and B series (121" wheelbase).

The nov 1941 buick magazine mentions that some plastic door handles and window cranks were being used in the 1942 buicks.

This is not a blackout model as it has no H before the model year and was sold on November 7, 1941.

I bought a well preserved 1942 buick in the fall of 2020 from the second owner. It is a 118” wheel base special 2 dr sedanet. I was surprised to find it had plastic interior door handles, window and vent window cranks (see attached picture). It also has the same trunk bezel as my 1941 buick special 2dr sedanet (121” wheel base) except the upper part on the ‘42 bezel is black and chrome plated on the ‘41. I’m curious if others have a ‘42 buick with any of these features.

I owned a 1948 Cadillac 60-S several years ago and reupholstered using the 10 wail Gray Bedford cloth that was identical to the original. I have quit a bit of this left that I no longer need. It may be used in other Cadillac models as well. If interested please call. Tom 913-302-0518
