keiser31
Just curious as to what the major differences from the 1917 to the 1919 DBs are. A person has been emailing me to correctly i.d. their car and they say it is a 1917, but the serial number on the frame suggests it is a 1919. What, if any are the MAJOR differences between the two years? Thanks, John
Guest John1918
Aluminium sump and gearbox casing in 1917. Gearbox in 1919 could still be aluminium but uses a steel yoke. I don't know when DB started using casting dates (additional to the part number) on engine castings but you could look for a number ending in ...19 for 1919 would be a clue . dwollam
Not sure but maybe 19 had the rear fenders mounted without the thin "angle iron" between body and fender?

Guest 18DodgeBrothers
I would go with the serial number on the frame: 303107 thru 424145 for 1919.
