Bit of grease in radiator '23 four

My truck has been running a little hot and there is a smear of grease at the top of the radiator. Obviously I have been over greasing the water pump and some has found it's way in there. Has anyone had the same problem and worked out a way to clean it up without removing and flushing with fuel or a solvent? cheers.

It could be water pump grease. If it's just a little bit I would just warm up the engine, shut it down and drain it after a few minutes.

There are radiator flushing compounds made for this. A little lye in water will cut grease if you can't find anything better.

I quit putting grease in the water pump packing zerks. I simply put a bottle of Prestone water pump lube in the water each spring. I dump it for the winter storage.. The packings quit leaking also since I did that.

Thanks for the feedback. Just for a laugh I always wondered why my truck seemed a little gutless, especially going uphill. Well I had a little brainstorm the other night.(You know about 2am sort of thing) So the result was I used a long screwdriver and depressed the accelerator while looking at the carby and found that fully depressed the carby only opened to about 1/2 to 3/4 of it's extent. Well by straightaning out the linkages I now get full throttle and can accelerate up hills for the first time ever for me. Not the brightest mechanic eh what!!!! cheers,
