The editors are probably the two most respected automotive historians of all time and the research that went in must have taken many years. nzcarnerd Posted May 19, 2011 Share Posted May 19, 2011 It is a very good book, although it is a bit short on detail of some of the more well known independents. Mine is a second edition from 1989. It is probably the best reference for early cars although you cannot guarantee total accuracy. The book that covers 1946-1975 (different editor though) has a few typos in it - at least my 1982 copy does. I know there have been subsequent editions but I haven't compared them for typos.
