1930Dictator info

Recommended Posts

From your information, it is neither 1930 nor Dictator, Ken. It is a 1931 Model 6-54 Studebaker Six. The O should be a Q. Q1 is a 2 passenger business coupe. It's a coincidence that the 654 is the assembly line sequence number. You are obviously relying on the seller for information. What he gave you was the body tag. The serial number is on the driver's side frame rail behind the front wheel. Starting number was 5096001, ending 5120000.

Terry is right on target with his identification. It is simply a Studebaker Six model 54 two passenger business coupe. There was also a Regal model with wire wheels and rumble seat but the body identification for these was either Q3 or Q5. The car in question would look identical to the one above. Incidentally this would have been the least expensive car produced by Studebaker during the '31 model year.

I might add that the car in the photo above is a bit unusual since it has the rumble seat and not a trunk. Most rumble seat cars had the wire wheels and dual side mounts though each of these features could be ordered separately. If you need information on the owner of this car get in touch with me directly.
