Jeff5627
Can anyone help me with this REO? I looked at this car/truck today. Not sure if it is a real truck or a roadster turned into truck. thanks for lookingHere is the link to the site I put them on http://jeffscars.webs.com/jeff Edited January 28, 2011 by Jeff5627 (see edit history)
keiser31
To me, it actually looks like it was a touring car and they grafted the rear panel of the touring car onto the rear of the front seat. A lot of passenger cars were transformed to truck so as to be eligible for more gas during the war.
paulrhd29nz
I'm no REO expert, but I have been told that REO trucks had iron crankcases and cars had alumin. crankcases.Paul
Juha Paavo Kaita
I own two Model G Reps from 1926. One is 4D Sedan and the other is 2 tn truck. They both have the same engine and aluminum oil pan/crankcase. The Reo in that photo was originally the Fifth Touring/Roadster which was rebuilt into pickup. Jeff5627
Thanks for all your help. What is the value for something like that in today’s market? It is for sale, and I am not sure what REO's in that condition are worth. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Thanks again for all your help. Jeff
Juha Paavo Kaita
The value of the Reo can´t be much because you are buying a lot of work. This is the case if even if you just decide to keep it like it is just working the Reo to running condition. If you want to restore the car to original shape amount of work is much greater. Peoples idea about the value of their treasures can be very high but the reality is different. If somebody badly wants something he may be willing to pay almost anything.Juha KaitanenTurku, Finland
