Dave Henderson
Somewhere along the way I acquired this 11" by 20" cardboard placard dating from the latter part of the '20's. Does anyone know what became of this chain with 52 stations? They sold a lot of gas. How long did the company and the brand names "Utilco" and "Super-X" exist? (and wouldn't you just love to fill up at those prices!) Where would this size poster appear? I remember busses having similar advertizing on their inside, above the windows, in the '40's era in particular, but don't know what their measurements were. Finally, should the sign be framed, or displayed as is, and would restoration of the missing corners by a professiional artist be a good or bad move? Guest Jim_Edwards
"Restoring" it will destroy some of its value to anyone into collecting signs of that nature. No telling how much it might be worth if appraised by someone of competence in the world of collecting signs and gas station memorabilia.Jim
