Silly question

There is a vacuum tank located (as you are sitting in the drivers seat) under the hood in the left front of and near the underneath section of the air cleaner. This vacuum tank has a electrically charged motor with teats for two vacuum hoses. On the motor is "Canada" and the part # "25530972" . Something was wrong with this motor about a year ago, so I purchased one from Jim Finn. Today or now neither myself or Jim knows why I ordered the thing. I know that this is an utterly ridiculous - and or silly question, but does anyone know any of the defects that could effect the performance of this motor / part please? Like what could be wrong with this part that would prompt me to purchase a replacement from Jim please?

a colasped vacuum line could foul things up.

What "electrically charged motor ? The cruise control servo ? That is mostly a reserve for the cruise control and HVAC.

Hey Padgett,

All I meant with electrically charged was that it had current routed to the part - it has a weather pak connections (2 wires - 1 line going to it....

He's talking about the charcoal canister purge valve. The EVAP system can throw a code on some systems. Check the rubber lines on the hard lines as the fuel vapor kills the rubber fast-less than a year for the wrong grade rubber; fuel grade lines here.
