bobs1916
Hello allIs the steering shaft on early 4 cylinder cars a DIFFERENT length on the touring car as opposed to the screenside? I find that as I assemble a 1918 using a cowl only configuration the steering shaft from a touring car is too short to fully engage the steering box thanksbobhttp://www.globalarray.net/user/bobspics/1917a.JPG Edited November 5, 2010 by bobs1916 add picture (see edit history)
dwollam
I use a touring car box, column, shaft and all in my 22 screenside. Yes it is supposed to be longer than the touring car. Roadsters were longer too. The angle of the mounting flange at the floorboard is different also. I have found several different lengths out of who knows what models. I like not having my steering wheel in my face on the screenside.
