Guest outlaw car man
If you back your 1933 Buick in the garage, probably a good idea to take it out of reverse.About 3:00 am this morning, I noticed a odd light in the garage, yes I'm up at 3:00am sometimes, I'm 64 . OK, do we have a prowler. Sweats on and with the dog beside me, we headed out to check it out-What a beautiful sight- The two amber backup lights were still on from leaving the damn car in reverse. I know I'm not the first one. OCM
Guest Fr Mike
. . . and the heater, and the cowl lights, and the turn signal . . .I'm 81. Aren't battery shut-off switches and maintainers wonderful?
Mark Shaw
It all started in 1929 when Buick first started putting a clear lens in the tail light and made it come on when the car is in reverse....
Guest outlaw car man
My backup lens are amber, which is different by today's standard of course. Took me awhile to realize the car was in reverse, just don't think that way at 3 am. Why did they change to amber lenses ? HMMM ? Sandy

SandyI'm guessing that the reason they changed to amber lenses was so that it would not just look like a "broken taillight lens with the brakes on" when lit. Purely speculation on my part, however.
