Search-Tune radio question--1951 the 1st?

I just talked to a 1951 Roadmaster owner for an article I am doing on his car. It has the search-tune radio with a button on the floor for changing the station. This is the earliest car I have ever heard of for this option. My 1950 Roadmaster does not have it. I have seen many mid-1950s Buicks that had this (1954, 1955, 1956). Does anyone know if 1951 was the first year for this option in a Buick?

Pete, this from some Packard site I googled

earliest I could find mention of was 1950

You are right, Delco did make the radios for Packard at least from 1951 and up. Probably started much before that. I don't know when Packard first offered the Wonder Bar radio but it was at least as far back as 1951. As far as GM goes my mom's 1950 Cadillac came with one. I remember that you could push a button on the floor to get the radio to seek the next station as well as the bar on the radio itself.
