My 58 Century 66R has a problem with the dynaflow that I have finally lost patience with! It leaks badly and needs high revs to pull away in D ( even with oil level correct ). I pull away in L and shift to D. What is wrong and what parts would I need to source??

Well, you definitely need a gasket set for it , probably a rear seal, and most likely a major rebuild kit, which should include all of the above. It would help if you could crawl underneath and try to see where the leak is coming from.

By all means, do NOT use high RPMS to pull away from a stop. It sounds like the clutches are no good, and if you rev it up in D from a dead stop, you are just asking for the clutch drum to heat up and crack and warp, and then you are really up the creek, because the drums are hard to find.

Thanks for help, Pete. Would a major rebuild kit include the clutches, and who can supply the kit? I have only used Cars inc for parts in the past, should I try them?
