i am never going to get to this project. so i have decided to sell it whole or part it out. there is no engine, no interior, no grille, nose sheetmetal is not good. fenders are decent with no rust, door bottoms need work, rear trunk bottom needs work, running boards arent bad, body is straight, etc for a 38 buick.

i would like to get $700 for the whole car. if nobody wants the whole car, i will part it out.

car is located in ellington, ct.

thanks

john

John I could use a wheel and tire for a spare for my 38 special. If you are parting out I'll drive up from NY city. Also the spark plug cover if you have it for the 248.

thanks, captbrian38

Yeah John, nice meeting you. Great place there. Didn't think about it at the time but maybe you could hang on to a set of those wheel bolts and also see if you have a jack in the back of that car, and maybe the hardware hold the wheel in place under the trunk shelf. Amazing what comes to your brain after you leave.

I was dummer, should have picked them up myself. If you would send them to NC it would be appreciated. If you let me know what it costs to ship them I'll reimburse you.

thanks, Brian

I have been responding to your e-mails, but I don't think you're getting them. I would be happy to post your photos for you, but the only ones I've gotten are the fenders. Since they are sold, I didn't think it necessary to post them. You mentioned some photos of the headlights???, but I didn't get them.

John,

Hope you got my check for the fenders, and that the pickup goes smoothly.

Didn't realize you have headlight lenses as well. I wouldn't object to a pair of spare lenses to put on the shelf, if no one else has claimed them.

John,

I'm interested in the headlight rings, not the lenses. Here's the situation I'm in. I have two sealed beam kits. One kit came with my original Buick but are completey rusted out. The second kit I have is in very good condition but I don't like the trim rings, they're too square and don't go with the curves of the body of my '37.

I am looking for a trim ring that will fit the conversion kit. The rusty kit had a painted trim ring that is curved, closer to the factory design, one is completely rusted away and the better one has a rust hole. From what I can see the trim ring from a '37 Chevy truck may work but they don't have the ribs like the stock Buick rings. I don't know if the stock Buick rings will fit the conversion kit. I am looking for a chromed or stainless trim ring, the rusty kit had painted rings and I don't like the look.

Here is the dimension of the conversion kit ring, is the stock Buick ring the same? What condition is the rings you have and how much do you want for them?

From your picture they do look like the originals. I've never had a set of original rings. I got a set of good buckets but they didn't come with rings. What I need to know if if the original rings will work with my conversion kits, if they don't then I'll have to try something else. I know the outer diameter will work but I need to know if the inner diameter is the same as a 7" sealed beam.

Will the rings you have clean up with some steel wool and polish or will they have to be replated?

it is a 350 with 283 std bore forged pistons, that's +.075, 351 ford connecting rods with a 1.88 honda rod bearing, that's grinding the crank down over .100, the intake used to be a 340 mopar dual quad, cut up, with adapter plates to fit the 350 and a 174 b&m supercharger. the bottom pulley is a 1.8 escort harmonic balancer modified to fit for the supercharger belt.

i do this stuff just to prove it can be done. when i'm done with this one, my next project is making a overhead cam 350.
