Thriller
Not mine.Pre War Buick - Winnipeg Collector Cars For Sale - Kijiji WinnipegIt is located about 55 or so miles from our rural property, or 80 miles from our city place, if someone wants a look. It's a neat looking car, but a huge project that someone would really need to want to do, or need parts (although there is a limited amount of those). jeff
What's with the flathead? Didn't Marquettes use Buick OHV engines?Jeff
Bob Engle
The 1930 Marquette and some of the early trucks were the only flathead Buick engines. October 2009 Buick Bugle had an article on a Marquette at the National meet.Bob
Thriller
If I remember correctly, it was either a Pontiac or Oldsmobile engine.
Guest wildcat465
If I remember correctly, it was either a Pontiac or Oldsmobile engine. Not Pontiac, it had two cylinder heads to Marquette's one. Also Pontiac 200 cubes to Marquette's 212. The Marquette did seem to have a lot of Olds similarities, unfortunately one of them wasn't price. Olds 2 dr sedan - $895. Marquette 2 dr sedan - $1000. The Olds 6 was 195 CID with 62 HP to Marquette's 67. During the depression, Marquette never had a chance against competition within it's own parent corporation, much less against the others. Shame.
