Guest camarobuyeratyahoo
THERE ARE FEWER AND FEWER REATTA HEADLIGHT MOTORS AVAILABLE OUT THERE . OR ANY PART FOR THAT MATTER . FOR AROUND $10 YOU CAN REPAIR THEM WITH AN UPGRADE ALUMINUM HEADLIGHT MOTOR KIT . IT IS VERY WELL MADE . THESE PARTS ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT DESIGN THAN THE OEM (CRAPPY) DELRIN BUSHINGS . IF YOUR LIGHTS ACT FUNNY , HAVE CLUNKING NOISES , OR SEEM LIKE THE GEARS ARE STRIPPED . THIS IS THE PART YOU NEED TO FIX THEM . ALSO CHECK THE ARM , THESE DO TEND TO ROUND OUT ON REATTAS . GOOD LUCK IF YOU HAVE THAT PROBLEM MY FRIENDS.MANY PEOPLE BUY A NEW GEAR THINKING THAT IS THE PROBLEM ,ONLY TO FIND THE ORIGINAL GEAR IS GOOD AS NEW !! BUT THE BUSHINGS HAVE TURNED INTO HARMFUL CHUNKS AND DUST !! THERE ARE ONLY 2 PLACES YOU CAN GET THIS PART , LOOK UP dragonstreasurehorde on Ebay or powerwindowrepairkit Both have outstanding feedback. Buy safley !! Barney Eaton
GM put those plastic rollers in there for a reason, otherwise there would be a direct drive. The plastic roller design appears to be a clutch if the headlight are stuck shut with snow/ice. By replacing the plastic parts with a hard material like aluminum, there is a strong risk of breaking another (more expensive) part. The plastic rollers are cheap and if they fail, replace them again.
