  3. THERE ARE FEWER AND FEWER REATTA HEADLIGHT MOTORS AVAILABLE OUT THERE . OR ANY PART FOR THAT MATTER . FOR AROUND $10 YOU CAN REPAIR THEM WITH AN UPGRADE ALUMINUM HEADLIGHT MOTOR KIT . IT IS VERY WELL MADE . THESE PARTS ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT DESIGN THAN THE OEM (CRAPPY) DELRIN BUSHINGS . IF YOUR LIGHTS ACT FUNNY , HAVE CLUNKING NOISES , OR SEEM LIKE THE GEARS ARE STRIPPED . THIS IS THE PART YOU NEED TO FIX THEM . ALSO CHECK THE ARM , THESE DO TEND TO ROUND OUT ON REATTAS . GOOD LUCK IF YOU HAVE THAT PROBLEM MY FRIENDS. MANY PEOPLE BUY A NEW GEAR THINKING THAT IS THE PROBLEM , ONLY TO FIND THE ORIGINAL GEAR IS GOOD AS NEW !! BUT THE BUSHINGS HAVE TURNED INTO HARMFUL CHUNKS AND DUST !! THERE ARE ONLY 2 PLACES YOU CAN GET THIS PART , LOOK UP dragonstreasurehorde on Ebay or powerwindowrepairkit Both have outstanding feedback. Buy safley !!

  5. Because of the AACA forum , this rusty Amphicar found me. Being the eternal optimist My mind thought this would be a great idea. Unfortunately My body sometimes disagrees. So I work till it hurts and take a break. Doing a really rough car is challenging. Being a challenge sometimes is actually fun. Plus I try to fabricate every sheet metal part. First pics of car arriving I had to fix hull and frame before I could put on rotisserie
  6. Jay Leno's Garage featured a cool demo for a new process to replicate chrome more accurately than ever before. I just posted this article with more details and a link to the video, I can imagine this being quite useful to many of us on this forum. If anyone has actually used this process before I'd be very curious how it came out, did you do it yourself, durability, etc.? Moto Arigato: Finally! A Cheaper and Easier Way to Replicate Chrome
  7. Hi folks! Sorry if this has been addressed recently, but my searching didn't find anything. When my '48 Windsor is warmed up, I notice that it takes a while for the transmission to shift to the next speed after I let up on the accelerator. When the engine is cold, it's an immediate response, but when it's warmed up (especially on a hot day) it can take 4-5 seconds. Much too long in traffic. What would be causing this? Is it an easy fix? Thanks!
  8. (1) 1929 Rusco Clutch Facing/Clutch plate catalog, 72 pgs, cars, trucks, tractors, roughly late teens to 1929, a few 1930 in a one page supplement; (2) 1930 Niehoff Ign parts, Motor/Gen Brush catalog, 48 pgs, cars, trucks, bus/taxi. Only fair on cars, pathetic on everything else. Probably only real value is illus of parts. Has an interchange BUT don't know if just good for Niehoff made parts--may not be any good for OE parts. No dist ID. Roughly covers 1920s cars, poor on others. Price pages. (3) Republic 1936 Ring Gears, Pinions, Diff Cases and Internal Parts, Trans Gears and Parts, "For all cars and Trucks" (actually, not really). 132 pgs, price lists. Roughly late 20s to 1936. (4) Waukesha General Instructions For Care/Operation of Wauk-Hesselman Oil Engines (the spark plug ignition oil/diesel fuel engine), 68 pgs., Ed 15, Form 908-N. All are 81/2x11, Republic and Niehohf dirty covers but all good interiors. Price $5 each plus mailing. Details/questions email. Bud (noncompos) pitybud@q.com

  11. Does anyone know if I can re-arc my 1955 Olds 88 sagging leaf springs with a roller? If not, what do I need to do to repair? Thanks. George
  12. With 12 family members visiting my house for Thanksgiving, my father asked me to drive him to the store. What a great opportunity to show him how my TC had progressed. After replacing the entire suspension, the car elicited this comment from my father, "wow, this car rides like new". Five minutes later, while turning into a restaurant for a bite to eat, I'm rear ended by a 1971 Ford Pickup. Low speed, limited damage but I still need to repair. The driver of the pickup was a general contractor and asked if I would allow his friends that own a body shop to do the work as opposed to insurance. I think I'm fine with this but will probably have to assist in getting them the following parts: the reflector on the trunk, right complete reverse lamp, and (probably) the urethane covering for the back of the bumper. Pictures are below, comments or PM are welcomed.
  13. Hello, I posted this here even though I am not a "business" per se. My hobby of collecting vehicle manuals, brochures and other printed material sort of got out of hand and now I need to thin it out. I have around 6k individual items and I am listing them for sale. If you are in the market, please take a gander. Thanks! The link to the items is Old Shop Manuals .com Service,Repair,Shop & Owner's Manuals for your Car,Motorcycle & Boat
  14. Folks- I need to move a Graham Paige (c. 1932) from upstate New York to Portland, Oregon. It has been sitting in storage for about 30 years. I am looking for contacts in Oregon for someone who might be able to work on the vehicle when it arrives. Also, I need advice on a method of shipment and preparations needed for this shipping. Please advise or recommend contacts. Sincerely, ChristopherY

If you think your gears are stripped, if you hear clunking noises or the motors run on after fully up or down 99.9 % of the time your crappy oem Delrin bushings have dicintegrated into harmfulchunks and dust ! The gear is almost always good as new !! Reattas also tend to strip out the arm ,so check it . You can safly purchase this item from dragonstreasurehorde on ebay . This is the only place to find them !! look at the customer feedback !!! it is outstanding !! all for around $10 Prices do go up in spring .
