here is a photo from a Swedish race track 1934, where they are showcasing the new race car from Mercedes

That is Rudi Caracciola in the car.

Are you sure it's 1934? It might be a year or two later. The car in the background is a 500k/540k.

The Mercedes 500K or 540K looks like a 1935 or 1936. 1935 was a 500K. 1936 was a 540K. A very few 1935s came with the 540K engine.

The race car looks to be the later W154 which appeared in late 1937 I think.

I have looked at several pics of the model but have not seen one with the three pointed star on the flank like this one has. I hope we will hear from someone with more knowledge of Mercedes GP car history.

maybe I was wrong about the year, but the race track was Saxtorp in south Sweden, my uncle raced a lot of time on this track. He took this photo
