Guest wally888
Details A rare Buick Reatta convertible. Based on a shortened Riviera platform, the front-drive 2-seat Reatta was introduced in January 1988. The vehicle shared an engine and interior design with the larger Buick Riviera. Only 305 convertibles were produced in 1991 making it the most exclusive of all models. Mileage on this vehicle is 81 original miles. GM AND BARRETT-JACKSON MAKES NO WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION OF ANY KIND, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, CONCERNING THE VEHICLE (INCLUDING NO WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE). THIS VEHICLE IN ITS CURRENT STATE CANNOT BE TITLED OR LICENSED, AND MAY NOT BE DRIVEN ON PUBLIC ROADS OR HIGHWAYS. PURCHASER UNDERSTANDS THAT NO CERTIFICATE OF TITLE WILL BE PROVIDED. SOLD ON BILL OF SALE ONLY
Guest daveagain909
WALLY Where did you get that blurp above, I am trying to look it up?
padgett
It is in the "details", Lot Number 190.1, Auction Las Vegas 2008Wonder if this was one of the "donated" 1991 'verts. Also in the details: "Mileage on this vehicle is 81 original miles. Sold on a Bill of Sale."BTW this is NOT the Blackhawk which appears to be no relation to a Reatta. 55chevy
Shortened Riviera? I have heard several comments from the Speed commentators that show they don't know everything, although they are pretty knowledgeable about cars.
padgett
Speed is where I saw a "bone stock" 58 vette go by with an HEI. Have seen a few things like that. Sometimes they make up for a lack of knowledge with certainty.
Guest DTerry
HEI? High explosive incendiary?
padgett
High Energy Ignition - standard on GM cars from about 1973 to DIS. Diameter is much larger than the earlier distributers to allow for high voltages required for .060" plug gaps and the coil was usually on top of the cap. Very easy to spot. Barney Eaton
The auction ad does not tell you much about the Blackhawk. I rode in it at the Buffalo BCA meet. My ride was around the parking lot as it was not licensed for street use. It has a 455 Buick block with a custom built fuel injection system. The top is carbon fiber and is stowed in the trunk. It can break the tires loose at will. A real sweet machine.
Guest Ranger
There's also a notice on the car, several of them there from the G.M. collection with the same notice.
