Jim Rohn
it appears to be the original real axle assembly for your carwhat is it you are trying to determine?
Guest als 66
I was wondering if you could tell if it was posi or not..
keiser31
Do a test on dirt....try to spin the tires on the dirt a little. If they both leave a patch, it's a posi.
72caddy
Some limited-slip diffs will also spin both wheels in a straight line. This may only be true on newer cars, but i thought I would give you another option....Try and do a donut. If the one wheel is not spinning (but dragging) then it is NOT a posi. If both wheels spin you will turn around very quickly and know you have a posi.Dirt is best, but that car can probably do it just as easy on pavement. Guest jaysgarage
Jack the rear tires off the ground, have someone hold 1 tire and spin the other forward. If you can't spin it or is really hard to spin then it most likely is a limited slip. Also look for a tag that says "Limited Diff Lube Only" on one of the cover bolts. For sure way to tell is take the cover off and look for clutches on the spyder gears.
