Hi Beam Head light

There are two possible problems.

(1) high beam relay, located inside the car..console area.

under normal conditions, the relay sends 12v to the low beams. When you turn on the high beams the relay coil is activated and it switches to high beams.

(2) a broken wire at the drivers side headlight.

Over time, the wires plugging into the back of the headlight often get rerouted incorrectly. This causes the wires to flex and they break inside the connector, but they look normal as the outside plastic insulation is still holding the wire in place.

If it breaks on the drives side you loose both light, if it breaks on the passanger side, only that light is affected.

The attached picture shows the headlight wire properly routed over the casting, coming from the fender side. This photo also shows the headlight upstop...the off-white hex head plastic thing that stops the headlights from shaking.
