  1.  While Annette was an icon of the 1950’s with all due respect she wasn’t Monroe or Garbo..

I understand paying a bit more for a true Celebrity auto but  who’s car it was what I think of them and of course if the car is interesting at all makes the big difference . Some socialites and Royalty would be worthy of a few extra bucks too.. again depending on the car.. wasn’t it Sinatra that had a K car woody wagon, but also had a Dual Ghia ?   Here the Dual Ghia would be way more interesting to me.

  2. This maybe a dumb question.. and Yes I know someone has to see it,  but I’m not looking for an exact dollar figure.. more a range of cost and suggestions of who is capable here in the Southern US of doing such a job.. while I’ve owned a ton of cars most were 49-79..I’ve never worked on, or owned, a car from the ‘30’s! .. So I have no idea the costs to redo this baggy/saggy rear roof area. The glass likely is delaminated so it should likely be replaced at the same time..The interior is decent I see no roof leaks .

  3. Seems half are for keeping it original, the other  half ..do what I want ..

so if there’s any checking or veining in the original old lacquer those whole areas must get stripped, or is there some other procedure to address that issue?  The crazing in spots on the car is all in the color I don’t like !

  4. I planned to keep it .. but we are all caregivers till it goes to someone else, right?
I’ve owned n know enough about cars to know is valuable.. the interior is bone color so not an issue .I’m in the design world so picking a suitable secondary color isn’t a problem . The car is all original ..including the drab lower tobacco color . I’d be the 3rd owner .. So what it is isn’t important, I’m asking if I’m ruining anything, or lessening it’s value .. what are the rules ?  What do old car buyers think?

  5. Calling all 58 Experts! Recently I heard of an “optional” headliner on 58 Coupe deville  it appeared to be an embossed vinyl or plastic with  a rectangular like bar looking  repeated motif ..but  no chrome bars or perforated  vinyl like the ones I knew and often see ..

So can anyone tell me if that option shows up in Salesman Data book .  I think I see something like a hint of it on a Seville in the 58 Brochure .. so owners of series 62/ CDV or Seville let me know so I can learn something new .. or tell me it’s a replacement  aftermarket trim .. ??

  6. The first was white blk top red seats but a **black upper dash sold in San Mateo in the 70’s

the second was that metallic blue with  a silver interior. Sold in th 90’s I’m guessing in Nj or Ny ** special detail it had a tonneau cover that covered the whole back seat with snaps and toggles to hold it in place

So anyone know ,own , or have seen either of these cars ??
