  1. Thanks again for all the information. Ollin states there are no identification marks on the carb and the only identification on the fuel pump is AC. He is going to have his son in law take photos and send to me and I will post them. Bob Smits

  2. Do you have any documentation that your painting is one of the first run of reproductions done by Oldsmobile after the painting was commissioned in 1910. You mention the number 250 which refers to a chromolithography reproduction by Meyercord in 1911. Around 1970 Olds reproduced a run on heavy textured paper. In the mid to late 70s a smaller version was mass produced on canvas for sale and for company awards. The first two runs should be 35" by 24". By the way, a documented and professionally restored example of the 250 run was a no bid on ebay last fall at $3500 of my memory is correct.   3. Still in Missouri but I talked to Ollin today and the plot thickens. He purchased the car several years ago and the engine was out of the car and in pieces along with several Pontiac blocks and assorted accessories. He is not certain that the carb or fuel pump are correct for the engine. There were several lying around and he took all of them. The pot metal on the one he is using is intact but "slightly warped" and leaking. Also the fuel pump develops so much pressure that he he had to put a pressure reducer on it. Can someone give me the correct carb and fuel pump numbers for the engine. I have also asked Ollin to have a friend take a photo of the carb and fuel pump and email or text them to me Are rebuild kits available? Thanks, Bob Smits

  4. The carb on my friends 30 Pontiac 6 is in pretty bad shape. I think it is beyond a rebuild. Does anyone know a source for a replacement? I am trying to help him as he does not have a computer. Thanks, Bob Smits

  5. Just think how much extra time you would have if you didn't turn your computer on every day. I used to leave for work 15-20 minutes after arising in the AM. Now I have to check Accuweather, read and answer emails from friends, log on to AACA forums, scan the morning news, check eBay for car parts and scan over Craigslist, etc. Years ago I became accquainted with a couple of old time advertising guys who to this day use snail mail to send me photos of items they have for sale before the take them to a swap meet. My car building is full or these items. I would agree with vermontboy and get to know some of these "old codgers". If they like you they will go out of their way to help you. Just my 2 cents worth.

  6. Excellent summary Ed. I think the most important advice is to be able to prove you are in compliance in your Home state along with a copy of the regulations which I don't have, but will before I head out to the Sentimental tour. Bob Smits
