  1.

I lost my place to store it and I don't want to keep it outside, which will not do it any good,so I am forced to try and sell it.

It is also listed under the OPEL Forum.

1973 Opel GT. Automatic trans. 55K original miles. The car is super solid with the ONLY rust being in the front battery tray area and 2 small spots on the drivers side - one right behind the door and one on the rear edge of the front fender (both about the size of a half dollar). The floors are perfect. There was a ding in the rear tail area that someone started to fix and never finished. The rest of the paint is original.

I have all of the parts that are not seen in the pictures including the rear tail finish moulding plus the following:

5 new unmounted tires, trim rings, complete new carpet set and padding, new gaskets for all the lights, new "OPEL" letters, new emblem mounting hardware, NOS rear resonator, new muffler to resonator pipe, new battery tray, extra wiper arms, new air filter... I may have other stuff that I cannot remember off hand.

I have had the car running by feeding the carb and it ran and sounded good. Did not smoke, knock, etc

    Asking $3500.00

  2. Sadly, I am considering selling my 1950 Station Sedan.
The car is as described here:
The interior looks to be all original and is in excellent condition.
The engine turns over freely - I have not tried to start it
Yes, there is rust in the trunk area. I have a new trunk floor for it.
It has new rocker panels welded in.
The tailgate wood (upper & lower) is in very good condition as is the wood on the rear quarter sections of the car.
I have 7 Station Sedan doors for this car - 3 have the wood on them which is in excellent condition and a 4th one has been painted but the wood is off. I believe I have the wood for it. If not the other 3 doors have wood and the inserts, too. What is on the car now are regular sedan doors that someone tried to "dress up" as woody doors.
I have the following for the car:
    New rubber sill plates
    New trunk floor sheet metal
    New stainless tailgate strip(s)
I have the rear brake light/ license plate holder
    New door sill mouldings (stainless)

The only thing I am missing is an "original" tailgate "t" handle but I have a new one that will work.

If interested contact me here and we can talk about it or call 570-460-1669
    Asking $15,500.00
These are the best pics I have. It is difficult to get to the car in the shed.
    Thanks, Joe

  3. Okay - don't kill me (I know it is not a "classic") but I just HAD to buy this little pickup for a few good reasons.

Reason #1 - It has low original miles (61K)

Reason #2 - It has ZERO rust

Reason #3- It was only 5 blocks from my house

Reason #4 - I already have 2 older Toyota pickups - they were getting lonely

My wife told that there was a cool little pickup for sale down the block and she wanted me to go look at it.

This was just before I was getting ready to leave for work - around 6pm

So we jump in the car and drive the 1/2 mile to where the truck was parked.

I called the phone # on the for sale sign

Guy lives 4 blocks from the truck - comes down - we go for a fast test drive - I buy it.

The truck is all original and has had one repaint (original color)

It was bought by the owner I got it from in 1986 with 16K original miles on it.

He used it as a shop truck and later "retired" it in a garage in upstate NY where his parents used it sparingly.

    Now I own it.

Thanks for the explanation, Joe. If I recall right, you had a great fondness for woodies. Do you have any currently?

    Hi,

Yes I do like the Woody Wagons and I regret missing out on that one in Canada. I should have sent a deposit to secure it but...

    Yes I have 3 now. 2 1947 Chrysler T & C sedans and I recently picked up a 1950 Packard Station Sedan (Woody).

I am a glutton for punishment and I am ALWAYS on the lookout for others, too.

  5. The only difference(s) between the Traveler and the regular Windsor sedan was the roof rack, paint scheme, interior materials, emblems AND the Traveler came with a metal step plate (99.9% of the time it is missing) that attached to the door sills so that you could reach the roof rack to load luggage, etc.... Hence the "Traveler" name.

Everything else about the car is the same as the Windsor and the Royal

Speaking of the DeSoto Suburbans I had one many moons ago and I would love to have another one. I totally regret selling that car (along with several others I have owned). It is just such an unusual car and that is what makes them so interesting to me. Besides, I like the oddball stuff anyway....

  6. As stated above if you think you can live without the car have some value set in your mind as to what the car should be worth on the open market and listen to offers.

If you feel that you really don't want to sell the car remember that "Everything is for sale for the right price"

Even so let someone make an offer and if it is a "ridiculous" offer - go from there.

In the end it all comes down to whether or not you could "move on" from the car.
