  1. Does anyone know what size the thread is on the end of the armature of mid 30's Auto Lite generators? I am working on a 'GAR' prefix unit. It is something between 5/8 and 3/4 with fine threads.
  2. Fred, I have ordered the Bulldog and the etching primer. I know the DuPont Chroma Premier will adhear to the primer, My fear is how the Bulldog adhears to the chrome finish. I will let you know how it goes.
  3. Yes, 31 Pontiac. I restored one of those once.
  4. You might do better on the Graham website. http://www.graham-paige.com/bits.htm
  5. Thanks for the help Tinindian. My problem is the Cord & Pierce Arrows are rarer than Auburns. I was hoping for something more common, like Chevy. Auburn marketed a 12 cylinder car in 1934 but they were left over 1933 cars. I keep forgetting about those. That will account for an extra part number or two. I imagine the GW60 is 810-812 Cord.
  6. Tinindian, are the part numbers you show : A90299 8 cyl LHD A90488 8 cyl RHD A90421 6 cyl LHD A90481 6 cyl RHD
  7. E.L. Cord owned the Columbia gear company. The two speed axel that was in the Linclon was probably a Columbia. There were Fords that had Columbia rear diffs, they probably were dealer installed. All high end Auburns had them between 1931 & 1936. These were much larger and heavy duty than those that Ford used. There are no parts that are interchangable between the two. Come to think of it E.L. sold rear diffs to Franklin as well, these were the heavy duty varity. They are still available.
  8. All 1934-36 are the same. Auburn has four part numbers for flywheels. They are six cylinder and eight cylinder, left and right hand drive. The difference is the location of the timing marks. They are all 110 tooth clock wise with approxmate 13.9 overall diameter. I can't understand why a ring gear cross reference would show four part numbers, as the timing marks are not stamped in the gear. As they say, go figure.........I do appreciate the help.
  9. I know Al. He is a good guy. But if I were Al, I wouldn't want to share that kind of info. I really don't want to ask him that. I figured some one out there has an old Hollander or the like.
  10. Wierd, I posted four pics, one is clicabale, the other just has the red X above. Maybe I should try again..........
  11. I purchased this basket case about four years ago. I do most all of the restoration work myself. I do not do the machine work on the engine, pinstriping or trimming. The car runs and drives now, but is sans top and interior. I plan to have it all black with a forest green interior and striping, a set of chrome wire wheels and blackwalls.
  12. Does anyone have a flywheel ring gear interchange? I am looking for 110 tooth rh rotation? they fit Auburn 34-36. Thanks!
  13. Jim, how would you go about prepping the background for paint. Only the tops of the letters should be chrome. This is roughly 1.25 high and 14 long.
  14. Are the Bulldog and the etching primer compatible with modern urathane paints ie DuPont Chroma Premier?
  15. I have two long plates that affix to each side of the hood which the lettering is chrome plated and the background is body color. Is there a chemical process that will 'etch' back ground hex chrome so it may be painted? Of course it would have to be applied manually and carefully.
  16. Thanks West, I took a side view which may help. If anyone needs one of these to complete a restoration let me know. I got them in a bunch of Auburn stuff I bought years ago.
  17. I have been notified that #6 is 32 Buick

  19. Were these air cleaners used on both V8 and 4 cyl.? How about trucks?
  20. I have had these lighters around or years. I don't know what they are, but I do know they are not Auburn. Any Ideas?
  21. There is an out of print book written on Ed Gein written by the Judge that tried him. Judge Golmer (or something like that) I used to have the book but loaned it to an old girl freind. There are a few pics of the car in there, and all of the pics plus others that are on the web site above.
