  1. I want to replace all the leather surfaces on my 1964 Buick Electra convertible (seats and door panels). Is there anywhere in the world I can buy replacement covers for them? What other cars may have the same seats? Mine has the speaker in the middle of the back seat and buckets in the front. Thanks,

Niiiiccce ...... your very first post and you are trying to sell something!! You could at least introduce yourself to the forum first!! And what?!?! no pic?!?!? How can anyone take you serious?!?!? LOLOLOL ..... just kidding bro. Find a trailer to haul your truck yet? U-haul is real cheap. I think $65 for a weekend if you pick it up and S'toon. Say Hi to Brandy for me. Cheers, L.
  3. Ok, you guys have convinced me..... Pertronix it is!!! Now, there are two part numbers ... 1181 and 1181LS. The info tells me that LS means lobe sensor. How do I know which one I need for my 425. Thanks for all your help guys!! Really appreciated.
  4. I looked on the Petronix site that you reccomended and found it confusing. i wasn't sure what I should be ordering. The other thing that crossed my mind is if I have problems with the Petronix set up, where do I go for parts quickly where as with the GM style on eBay I can go to any parts store for parts. Do you know a part number in Petronix that I should look at and is there anywhere I can get replacement parts in a hurry if I need to? Thanks for the info... much appreciated.
  5. I want to switch to HEI simply to get away from points. I don't want to have to fiddle with dwell etc and would like better performance along with easier parts availability. The distributor I saw on ebay was a nailhead distributor converted to HEI. My car is a 1964 Buick Electra convertible with a 425 and dual 4 barrels. I think there is plenty of room.
  6. I saw an HEI distributor on eBay and I am wonering what it takes to convert to HEI. Is it just a matter of dropping in the distribuor, supplying a power scource and changing plugs?
  7. I live in fort McMurray, Alberta. I just bought a second '64 Electra convertible but it isn't a 425 engine. The second one I bought is a much nicer car then the one I am restoring so I suspect I will be looking for a third for parts
  8. Thanks guys, tht is exactly what I am looking for. Now I just have decide whether I want a lumpy idle in this cruiser or stay with the stock 425 cam. hmmmmm.... desicions desicions :-)
  9. hmmmm....... that's odd. neither one of those links will open....
  10. hi Guys, I am looking for the factory cam specs for a KX block 425 cid with 2x4 barrel carbs. The engine is in a 1964 Buick Electra convertible. I have the factory manual but it doesn't seem to be listed. Thanks,
  11. i am interested. How is the floor? how much are you hoping for? (780)838-2308 Thanks, Larry
  12. I am looking for a 1964 buick Electra convertible body from the firewall to the tail lights. Dents and dings aren't a big deal but major rust is. Do you have something like this? the best way to reach me is cobravii@shaw.ca but you can also call me at (780)838-2308 Thanks, Larry
  13. ok Ok ..... I know I am grasping at straws. I am looking for a body from the firewall to the tailights of a 1964 Buick Electra convertible. dents and dings are no problem but I would like something with minimal rust. I am interested in anything in North America and don't have a problem coming to pick it up. Please contact me with whatever you have or know of. cobravi@shaw.ca (780)838-2308 Thanks, Larry

  15. I have a 1964 Buick Electra Convertible that my dad gave me. I haven't brought it home yet and my dad thinks the floor pans are rusted out. I have been searching the internet snce he gave me the nod on it but haven't had any luck. So, two questions. 1) where can I buy body panels? 2) will Impala floor pans fit? Thanks,
  16. It's very nice!! Cobra's are one of the most incredible cars built. A mid '70's Ferrari (is an awesome car) looks out of style but a Cobra never does and appeals to every generation. Was this one built by Shelby or did you build it? I have a Cobra myself that is my passion. I can't afford one built in '65 nor would I want to drive it today if it was. I have an FFR replica that is near completion. I can't wait to be showing it off the way you are. Must be a blast! Cheers, Larry
  17. I'm sure he will be happy to hear from all of you! My name is Larry, his oldest son. Ron, my dad is retiring because he has black lung and would love to see his life's work be put to good use. He has always been known to have extremely reasonable prices and now that he is retiring don't be surprised to see him load your trunk up without charge ;-) Just don't be talking him into the parts he set aside for the 1964 Electra Converible he gave me ;-) L0L Cheers,
  18. The oddest I've driven is the worlds largest truck..... a Caterpillar 797B heavy hauler
  19. Hey guys, My dad has a farm yard of old Buicks and Buick parts (and lot's of other brands) if anyone is interested ranging from 1959 and up. He used to have an auto wrecking business but is retiring and would hate to see all this stuff melted down into Toyotas!! He is an hour north of Regina, Saskatchewan Canada and his phone number is (306)723-4789 He has grain bins full od radios, knobs, trim, fenders, doors, driveline parts as well as complete cars. I am hoping this doesn't go against the board rules, if for some reason it does please let me know as I have no wish to offend anyone. Cheers,
  20. I've used a product called JB Weld, it is a two part metal epoxy and is incredibly strong. It can be drilled and filed once it sets. I've used it to fix cracked engine blocks. The only problem you might have is that is dries to a dark grey color. I buy it at any parts store here (NAPA, Partscource, Canadian Tire etc)
  21. Is there anywhere I can search the serial number for my '64 Electra to see how many like it were built etc??
  22. P.S. My dad has a wrecking yard with ALOT of old buick stuff that you might be interested in.
