1. I wish they were and I would be bidding on the set on EBay( # 230187795678 ). I measured up my 35 Airstream and calculated the hight to be close to nineteen inches. The Airflow set is less than eighteen inches and doesn't have the swept point at the rear bottom of the skirt. Cheers/Mark
2. Thanks for clearing that up Eric. So the next question is : if the stampings are the same but the mounting surface has a different profile, are they adaptable. Given the rarity of these cars, is it acceptable to modify a pair from Airflow to Airstream . I see a prevous visitor to this site is looking for Desoto Airflow bumper guards(4) and has no response. Still looking /Mark
3. Any help would be appreciated in locating a pair of bumper guards for the rear of my 35 C6 coupe. I am appealing to Airflow owners as the bumper guard is the same as on the Airstream. Thanks Mark
4. Any help in locating a pair of bumper guards for my 35 Chrysler C6 Coupe would be much appreciated . I understand the Airflows used the same part which should improve the odds. Thanks Mark
5. If its from a leaky frost plug or elsewhere it's going to corrode the surface of the flywheel and clutch/ pressure plate together over and over again. If you want the quick cheap way out put some "Stop Leak" additive in the radiator, pry the pressure plate back again and then slip the clutch so as to burn the corrosion off the surfaces. The best solution however,is to take it apart and fix the leak, resurface the flywheel and put in a new clutch/pressure plate. Good Luck/Mark
6. Thanks for the " heads up " on the 37 Plymouth promo. I have some period brochures but the video takes it one step better. Have you found any more ?
7. Thanks for commenting on your experiences with N/C Industries. I have ordered the raw steel frame with rubber( 35 Airstream Coupe ) and was told they would make it in about five months. A friend of mine has ordered one for his 35 Plymouth coupe and was lucky to find they had one in stock.I too had trouble getting a response to my email but no problem with a phone call. Thanks/Mark
8. Can I get some feedback from anyone who has purchased a windshield frame from N/C Industries. I would like to know if you were happy with the workmanship and how closely did it resembled the original. Thanks/Mark
9. I titled my earlier post as "35 Airflow " instead of "Airstream". At least I got the "Air " part right but sorry for the error.
10. Hear are a couple of images of the 35 coupe from a US sales brochure showing the torpedo shaped tail lamps.
11. I am interested in picking the brains of you Airsream experts out there . What are the differences between the Detroit and Windsor(Canada ) cars. I am especially interested in the tail lamps and am already aware of the horn button variations. Thanks Mark
12. Thanks for your time in seding this on to me.
13. I have tried to scan the black & white photo of the dash in my 1935 sales brochure. If you look you can see the grain is some kind of a burl.
14. Thanks for the photo but it's not a 35 Airsteam with that split windshield (Airflow maybe) and not an original woodgrain finish. I suspect an amateur attempt like the one on my dash. I'v been told the originals were a photographic paper transfer that was protected by a clear coat finish. Cheers/Mark
15. Great to find there are other 1935 Airsteam owners out there. I have had several antique cars over the years and purchased the Chrysler rumble seat coupe last year. I purchased an original sales brochure from McLellans Automotive (http://www.mclellansautomotive.com/sales-lit/bymake/chrysler/index.shtml) last month which shows all the body styles (exept covertables ) and the acsessories available. There appear to be some differences between the U.S. and Canadian (produced in Windsor Ontario ) models. The Canadian model has an all brown steering wheel unlike the U.S. wheel with the white horn button. My tail lamps ( if they are original to the car ) are similar to the Plymouth and Dodge and not the torpedo bullets on the U.S. car. In the brochure there is a fairly clear black and whit photo of the dashboard wood grianing but I would love to see a colour picture of an original if one exists
