Those are great cars, barely broken in at 129,000 miles. And it has the factory towing package!

What a monster! Does that still hold the record as the largest unibody car ever built? The price is ridiculous.

I had a 78 Regency coupe for a few years in the early 80s, one of the best and most comfortable cars I ever owned. This appears in very nice shape with all the plastic bumper fillers still there, although the front floor looks pretty messed up. At that beater price though definitely worth a look.

Love it.

Factory option wire wheels ended with the 56 model year.
So not "original". That's what I thought.

That metallic color was called "Bruce Blue", and sometimes the chassis in color was done at the dealer. If it was used as a demo that would explain it better. I also notice the seldom seen "Butt Walnut" in place of the usual burled walnut on the moldings and instrument panel. The early build sort of checks that box too.
I remember when I posted my interior pics on the Packard Club forum they were very impressed about the Butt Walnut - first time I ever heard that terminology.

Are you still using that battery in your car?
The date on the battery would mean it is now almost 10 years old.
If you are, how is it holding up?
I sold the car in 2015.

If your moldings are original you have a very early car because even your A pillar moldings are painted. Very early in the model year, when Buick added the standard interior trim levels, the A pillar moldings became chrome plated as standard with all interior trims.

My car was an October or November 62 build, Jim Cannon would know.

Great project! I'm late subscribing but just saw some articles on the Jetfires in JWO magazine. I did not realize how complex these were and wayyy ahead of their time.

One of the factory options on this car were rear view side mirrors mounted on the fender mounted spare tires. They were stamped "Packard See-Right" and employed mounting brackets which included small padlocks. I loved the way they looked but were totally worthless for actual rear vision no matter how I adjusted them.

"Since this vehicle is a weekend cruiser and summer vehicle only air/heat is inoperable."
Looks pretty, buckets / console / no vinyl top is desirable. White paint is the most effective at hiding bodywork repairs or poor workmanship. And since repairing the Comfortron heat / AC system is one of the most problematic things on these cars the above statement does not support the asking price.

12,000 for paint materials ????

I would like to hear an informed scientific explanation as to why modern auto paint costs this much. Plus the facts about whether it is actually worth it or just another example of ridiculous profit margins at work.
