  1. Mark, it really looks great! Ed did a wonderful job, if it any where close to his Packard it will be impressive. Hope you get it to New Bern this Spring for the National . Mickey
  2. Inner fenders should also be semi-gloss, use the same 7777. You may see some hi-gloss show cars, that is NOT correct.
  3. Back to my question! Kalamazoo AGN hotel info anybody?? Mickey
  4. Is there any hotel info available for the 2007 AGN in Kalamazoo?
  5. I have restored several Tri-5 Chevys. The paint used for the frame and supension parts should be a semi-gloss black. I use Rustolium Satin Black #7777. It gives the proper sheen and is very durable
  6. I have a '68 Delta 88 with 22000 miles, excellent condition all original.
  7. Oracle, thanks for the info. I've never researched that data before . Very helpful. Mick
  8. Don't know if you would specifically call it a VIN but both of my '32 Chevrolet cars have a plate on the right door sill that is a Chevrolet installed plate with a "car" number. These numbers appear on the titles as the VIN. Don't know what could be more specific. The engine number is not what appears as the "car" number. Don't have a clue as to the range of #. My '32 Coach is #21BA0420238; my coupe is 12BA0316519
  9. Just purchased a '68 Olds Delta 88 with 455 engine. It has single exhaust and a 2bbl carb. How can I tell if the engine is the 320hp or the 310hp engine? Difference being the use of premium or regular fuel due to compression ratio.
  10. Quickest way to determine if you have a 1955 265 engine is to look for the engine stamping on th RH side of the block just forward of the head. The last 4 or 5 digits and letters will give you the plant of engine assembly, year('55). and transmission type. if the stamping is 55 then you should have a 265 (unless someone has faked it). exmpl. 0001001F55F would be: plant Flint, year 1955,transmission powerglide. The casting # for a 1955 block is 3703524. You'll find this on the rear of the eng. drivers side just below the head. Sometimes tough to see with engine installed. I am running 205/75R-15 wide whites on my '56; no problem.
  11. TOMMY, YOU KNOW AS WELL AS I DO THAT NO ONE WILL PAY RESORT RATES FOR VIRGINIA BEACH IN JULY. MAYBE RICHMOND CAN DO IT. YOU'RE WAY INLAND. MICKEY

  14. Biggest problems for '55 Chevy in the RUST dept. are: trunk tailpan and along side the rear wheel wells in the trunk; front and rear floor pans; floor supports particularly the rear support; inner and outer rocker panels and with a four door car the rear dog leg at the rear of the door opening. Also the front fenders at the top of the headlights and trailing edge at the bottom. Check the firewall for buldges on the left and right side as there is a drain which can plug up and not allow water to pass throught the cowl vent. Other than that they are just like any "old car" Good luck! Mickey
  15. Contact Steve Pratt at (972) 552-2221.or Rpo324@sbeglobal.net He sells a complete kit with every nut, bolt and component. They are show quality units. I have seen them and they are very good. Lots of luck with your project.
