Its definately a rear but could be a early 50s too. Jeff

I have a set of non a/c alternator brackets and pulleys that came from a 66 425 I think, the pulleys are a little rough due to being in the open for over 20 years. Jeff

I would be interested in the 35 sedan (depending on the price) if it has clear paper work so it could be brought in the states,I have been looking for a body to stick a rebuilt 56 324 in. Jeff

I had the same problem with my 55 fairlane with the teapot carb and a rebuild did not fix it,all I did was crank the motor untill the oil light went out and then pumped the gas and it would fire right up. It must be a common problem as a friend with a 54 lincoln has the same problem but a modern holley carb fixed the problem for good. Jeff

One from a dodge will not work as years ago I found a mint one from a 50 dodge and it would not fit my 50 windsor, chrysler and desoto only. Jeff

I am in the Dayton Ohio area and I have the switch and all the brackets, the motor worked 10 years ago when I got it out of the junkyard. The only thing that is missing is the two heavy springs that attached to the tracks and seat frame,if I can remember correctly when the seat was moved one way it pulled on the springs to make it easire to go the other way. This is a unusual system as the motor bolted to the floor and then to the seat frame and the motor is made with a screw mechanism to move it back and forth,I also have the reinforcement bracket that goes on the underside of the floor and has the threads to bolt the motor. I do not have the seat plastics from the donor car of the power seat but I might have a set from a 56 without power. Jeff

Steele rubber product has what you need, you might need to to send in your mounts as some have new rubber molded to your original steel cores,I have a 97 catalog and their number then was 1-800-544-8665 they had mounts listed for 61 to 63s but this is a 10 year old catalog and many items could have been added since

I looked at one of my NOS parking light housings and it looks like there is a right and left and then only difference I see is the holes that mount it to the body,I think they can be flipped but some modifications to the mounting tabs or drilling different holes in the body and spacers will be needed. Jeff

Motor works and has wiring and switch, got it to use on my 53 and it would not fit, first 50 dollars plus shipping gets it. Jeff

Any chance your car came from the troy ohio area,a friend sold one a few years ago and the new owner was going to make a rod out of it but was wondering what happened to it. Jeff

There is a casting number that tells what the heads are if you know what the numbers mean. Jeff

The parts came from a 88 4 door sedan and I do not have any chrome that is good as I got mostly the mechanical parts from this car and a friend got the rest, the only chrome I have are the head and tail light bezels and they are not that good. Jeff

Could the 59 or 60 jetaway be subsituted for a slim jim,I almost bought a 63 88 but the trans was bad and I knew no one who would touch the slim jim. Jeff

Since its a sedan the back glass should come out to install the headliner but it can be done with the window still in but its harder, most glass shops can remove the window but if it breaks they wont be responsable. Jeff

I want the chief judge of the CVA to look at the interior of my 55 sunliner as it looks like they ran out of material and subsituted a 56 color in some parts, mine is a late 55 with some 56 parts and was probably the last one made in that color scheme. Jeff
-
I am in the southwest corner of the state,I could not find your town listed in my atlas so what large city are you near. Jeff
-
I have never seen any with black frames as my 55 sunliner has the frame painted off white and all the ones I seen in junkyards were white too,it presently has a white vinyl top with a black backing. I have a section of the original top and it had a white backing and maybe the original black cloth top had a white backing too,I think I can get a top with a white backing but I was told they stained easily and it would lok better with a black frame as the black top will have a black or dark colored backing. My 37 has a tag on the pass side of the firewall, dont know if a 35 is similar and from what I have heard some used the motor number for a VIN. If you have a title and cant find the number then it might have used the motor number and if you dont have the original motor I would try to find a similar era reproduction body tag and stamp the number you have and attach it to the firewall somewhere. Jeff

The shorter shoe is the primary and goes on front and the long shoe on rear, seems wierd as you would think the long shoe would go on front but thats not the way it is. Jeff

I am in the Dayton ohio area and I will have to research shipping as they are heavy,I would prfer they be picked up. Jeff

When I done the body work on my 53 88 about 10 years ago I made or repaired every panel myself, the closest of the GM line is a 53 buick special or century. A roadmaster,98 and the caddy had a similar body and will not interchange with the 88,special and century,I would start looking out west for body panels for your 53. Jeff

If yours has the six then its not as common as the small V8,I have seen more sixes in the custom versions then the galaxies. There is a 65 galaxie convertible running around with a six and its the only convertible I have seen with one, usually you see the 289 in the galaxies for a small motor but back then anything was possible. As for parts there are vendors that sell reproduction parts and most mechanical and electrical parts are available at the local parts stores and there are a few of them in a couple junkyards up the street in Dayton,I have two 65s and have no problem getting parts.
