I recently bought what appears to be, was also told it was a hood ornament off a british vehicle. My best guess is as to the material is stainless steel due to color a magnet stuck to it, it is a lion with his left rear paw on the base the right rear paw is raised and resting on a block with the words TRADE MARK on it his left front paw is on an oval with the words JUSTICE AND STRENGTH with the Union Jack in the center of the oval. if you've any ideas what this is from... unless you can find someone with a rollback or a flatbed trailer big enough for both cars, the cheapest way i can think of would be to rent a large u-haul or other box truck and a car dolly, use ramps and drive the Mustang into the truck and put the Explorer on the dolly, not sure how much it will cost but it should work aslong as the Mustand is secured very well

i agree that the 15 million of eighty years ago is quite a bit bigger when you compare markets for them and from what i looked up rather quickly the Model T was only made for 19-20 years and reached 15 million whereas at the twenty year mark the Corolla had only reached 10 million the Beetle might beat both of them but i couldn't find and numbers for total production, however i did find mentiond that it is supposedly still being made in a form close to the original in South America, who knows how accurate this is though. as to the largest in size availible to the general public i would think either the '59 caddy or one of the rolling behemoths such as the Ford Excursion, or other vehicles in its class

the people at Ford might not have known as it appears to nave been a very small number of cars made and most likely none made it out of Washington state let alone all the way to Michigan

Thanks Dave.. at least someone else has heard of this car, and i checked on the book you mentioned, it appears to be the one i originally saw the information in or at least a similar format so i've learned something

if someone could clean up the section of the photo with the radiator cap that might help since in general cars of that era had to at least some degree distinctive radiator caps, at the very least it might narrow it down some

the year was not a typo, the car manufacturer (had read this before but forgotten details) was Mustang Engineering Corp. of Seattle Washington. What little text i've found says it was a six passenger sedan and say it was in 1948 i've only found mention in two of the books i've looked in and there is very little in either one

I'm looking for any information on a Mustang sedan made in the seattle area in about 1948, when i was younger i was looking through some pages of a book, most of the book was missing but it appeared to have most of the images were from automotive brochures and while i liked most of the cars one that caught my attention was one named mustang that looked sort of what would now be a late model olds silouette minivan with the body reversed to the back window was the windshield, i know this is not much information to go on but anything at all would be helpful
