  1. OK guys someone must need them---how about $100 bucks...52er
  2. The engine has app. 80K I tore it down and it hardley has any ridge--it didn`t smoke and ran very good when taken out of the car. It comes with a new water pump, timing set, starter, oil pump, reground cam for better throttle responce. The dist. comes with it and a Bentsens tranny adapter to mate up later GM trannies. Tri power intake(no carbs)it is assembled with new gaskets--it will need a set of lifters as I used them in another engine---will throw in a rebuilt 57 AFB four barrel carb---you pick-up no ship------$1000--call for more info--612-207-5853
  3. A guy called me and he has a NOS head and camshaft for the big six----The head does not have the Spitfire logo--it measures correct #`s are, raised 10019--stamped 1327236 or 5---part# on box MX51738. Camshaft---stamped-CWC864241 Part# on box--1869392----I asked on the Chrysler site but thought maybe it was a truck part. Any info on these would be appreciated, Thanks.....52er
  4. I have a chance to pick up an NOS head and camshaft for the big six----it measures right but doesn`t say Spitfire. Here are some #`s on the head---raised letters--10019---stamped 1327236 or 5. Part# on box--mx51738. The camshaft--stamped CWC864241---# on box 1869392---what does it fit. I may pass on these parts as I have an extra complete 265---would anyone need these parts? Thanks........52er
  5. Fred---put in the 3:54----you won`t be sorry---just do it!!
  6. I have one set of NOS Foxcraft fender skirts for sale--still in the box--$200.00--612-207-5853
  7. Fred. your 205-70-15`s are 26.3" tall. With 4:11 gears you are turning 3150 rpm`s at 60 mph---with 3:54 2714---like I said in the other post I am using 235-78-15 with 3:25 gears and fluid drive, at 60 mph--2229 rpm. She comes off the line a little slow, but these wern`t noted to be muscle cars-just nice drivers. On the highway it pulls real stong, cruises real nice at 60-65. When I am on a hill at a light I use low range and other conditions that warrant it. 90 percent of the time I start out in high range and things are just fine. Good Luck...52er
  8. Thanks Rusty---always good to hear from you....52er
  9. Are the bolt patterns for the bellhousing the same on the 52 and the 54 considering they use different trannys.....thanks 52er
  10. Fred, if your donor car is the same year use the 3:54. You will notice an extreme drop in RPM`s and this would be the most cost effcient. To go to even higher you would have to change the whole rear housing. Late fifties Dodge rear housing would net you some 3:36---do a search on this site for Jon Robinson`s post`s on this same subject---very good info. I used a Ford 9 inch as there is welding to the spring perches to accomadate the new housing, weather you use MoPar or other. I used 3:23`s and have been very happy with the results---I have the fluid drive also----Good Luck...52er
  11. Fred, as far as the gear ratio---I went with a 3:25 with the fluid drive and it made a real difference in the RPM`S--she cruises real nice at 60-65.I had 3:90 before and you can really tell the difference----Good Luck.....52er
  12. I still am trying to get the correct drag link---collectors auto supply shows so many different part numbers. I talked with the guy for a 1/2 hour going thru manuals with numbers he had--so many adendums and refer to this number that neither of us are sure as to which one to get. He thinks the part number he has might be correct but isn`t sure. So we are looking for specs on the part # 1407983 ie; lenght from center to center or whatever specs are avaiable so I can compare with specs he is getting from his part. My car is still running so I will have to measure as best I can with the part still on the car.....whew!!! Mine is app. 27-28 inches long. Thanks for any help.......52er
  13. We have a get together in our area every two weeks for the old cars and just as we were leaving this pretty clean New Yorker pulls up. I saw that it was for sale but didn`t have time to get a good look. Will see if he shows up in two weeks---will have a phone number for those who are interested......52er
  14. Thanks much---I have a 2DR Club Coupe with fluid drive, but as you say the only number I need is the one you pointed out....Thanks again......52er
  15. Where is the break from early and late--my # is 70096124, I have manual steering....thanks 52er.
  16. Are there other years where this part would be the same? Part #`s would be helpful. My front end guy said most of the front suspension is OK. Need a drag link, sterring box tightened, front end alginment, replace the rubbers on the tie rods and were good to go.....Thanks.....52er
  17. Dave, ya the springs are spendy, that`s why I went with the used one for now. I put in the new shocks and the ride seems OK. Andy`s has them for less, but your price must be with installation? As far as the wiring, sometimes it`s better to start over. I did this with mine and it was time consuming but well worth the effort----winter project. Good luck.....52er
  18. W O W ! ! ! It would be something just to see---that`s a lot of engine all in a row!!!!
  19. I sure can understand using the 10W during the winter. I wonder if they based there recomendations cold weather use--maybe because it was coupled to the fluid drive---harder shifting till it got good and warm----food for thought.................52er
  20. I know your supposed to use 10W engine oil non detergent--my question is would 30W be OK?? The car of course isn`t used in the winter and it gets hot and muggy here in Minnesota, maybe a little more viscosity would help?? Thanks........52er
  21. What were the overall dimensions---ie; how much longer and wider---I bet these are rarer than hen`s teeth? Thanks for the info!........52er
  22. Sometime ago there was talk of 377 or 413 flathead six engines. Were these the same outside dimensions as the 265? Are there any of these engines still around? Thanks......52er
  23. Dave, your correct---that`s just what they did. The car was marked as a 52 when it was a 53--- Floyd went out and found one, he still remembers what they look like.....52er
  24. Did they make more than one size spring for the rears---mine are 1-7/8" wide and I got a used one sent and it`s 2-1/2" wide---was out of a Windsor they said---any ideas?? Thanks...52er
  25. Do the 6V coils on the Windsors have a internal resistor or not?? Thanks....52er
