  1. Are their later model V-8 engines that will bolt-up using existing frame mounts--ie. 318 or ???? I have a 52 Windsor and I am checking out all options before spending a lot of money fixing old stuff and newer could be cheaper and better to maintain in the long run--any ideas? Thanks
  2. First off this is the first Mopar product I have ever owned. I just got a 52 Windsor two door, it has been sitting for ten years in a garage and would like to trailer it home but the brakes are locked up. I hear they have very different brakes on the rear, would draging it out of the garage with a chain to free up the drums hurt anything? Plus how do you get the rear drums off. Most everything else seems straight forward to me as changing fluids and all the normal things you would check out for a car that has sat for 10 years. If their is anything that is unique feel free to guide me along. It has fliud drive which I have never worked on so clue me in. I have been GM all my life so this is all new to me.I am a decent mechanic but never worked on this stuff---so make me a beliver. Thanks
  3. Sorry to jump in on your post--would you be willing to send pics of how you put your rear end in ? I am in the process of doing something very similar--could use the help. Also did you convert to disc brakes? On the rear end--most interested in how you installed the swing arms--anything on how it`s mounted.
  4. Who has gas shocks for a 57 Special. Want a good ride not real stiff. Need front and rear. Thanks
  5. Thanks much---it is a good start to a long project.
  6. Do have the original antenna with all the hardware--front windshield--all four brake drums if there is plenty of meat left to turn them--do not want to go over the specs.Plus a power brake pedal and rod to booster--with the clips ect. Let me know the condition of the other items I asked about. THANKS!!!!
  7. Pics of complete assy. mounted on the car as to see all locations of swing arms, brackets, spring and shock mounts and locations as to were they mounted on frame---what I am hoping these units will mount under my 57 with little or no modifications--this post ties in with my other post on how to open up my driveline...THANKS for any input!!!
  8. I would try getting brackets off a later 401 motor, like a Riv--did this on my 60 and all went well.
  9. I have heard about the 64-65 th400 hook-up to 364---what are the modifications to make this set-up work. Is there a adapter plate or is it simpler than that. The reason I am asking is I am in the process of redoing the driveline on my 57. Upgrading to 700R with adapter or this system you are talking about--it sounds a little cheaper if you don`t have to use the adapter. I always liked the old switch pitch tranny.
  10. I am taking offers on this car.Records show that there are only four of these cars left in the world. The car was restored within the last five years and no expense was spared. The car was completely gutted and redone. An original ND. car in very good shape was just made like new. Red and white, twin Federal beacons and Federal 78B siren. All mechanicals, interior, body, chrome, suspension, all redone. This car was in the Bugle I belive in the March issue 2004.I belive in driving my cars to shows so it does have some road wear---more honest info call me at 952-835-2568 or E-MAIL me landersen@mn.rr.com This is a very stunning automobile,no dissapointments. $20,500
