  1. since I asked this afternoon, I found a set in Chicago. We were going there anyway this weekend. I will be pulling the trailer now. Sometimes things work out beautifully. They are tan leather. If anyone wants a set in Maroon leather, they are for sale in Lima Ohio. They are for sale on Turbo-Mopar.com. If the color of mine is a close match, I might be selling the leather skins I bought a few years back. Thanks for updating us on the results. And I found a Dex 77 for my Shelby Lancer. God must love me. At least my wife does.
  2. How far did you have to ship them, how did you ship them, and how much was shipping? Glad to know they work. I'm probably going to do the same on mine.

  4. I'm hesitant to say this, but I think the bushing will help stiffen the body. Without the bushing the body had an extra 1/2"? to flex. If you put one hand on the rear of the door and the body, you will feel the movement between the door and the body on bumps. Tires and tire pressure will also affect it. I'm partial to Pirellis because of the softer sidewalls.
  5. If you haven't had a convertible before, there is "cowl shake". Slight body twisting. The TC is heavily built but there is always more flex than non verts. One other thing, I hope they replaced the strut bearing plates at the top of the strut. There should also be nylon bushings on the door latch post.
  6. LouZ, When you get them, see if the Z seats bolt the the TC seat frame. That way you would get the TC adjustments plus the Daytona adjustments. Hmmm......LouZ is going to have Z seats..... As for the leather, the replacement leather from S-T is soooo soft it should almost be x rated.
  7. http://www.turbododge.com/forums/f4/f17/64239-installing-vacuum-block-9.html I have a Daytona Z that had the lines messed up. I too pulled my hair and finally did this in one day. That includes tracking down the vac block at a aircraft parts company near the ST. Louis airport. I wanted a black one that matched the TII engine.(I had to drive all of 5 miles for that) For one line, try calling a Napa store in a decent size city. If it makes you feel better, I can get anything done or find any part within 20 miles,BUT I have to drive 60 miles before I get out of the city.
  8. S-T leather in St. Louis. I can't find the phone number. they are NOT on the internet. I bought some 2-3 years ago for $75 per skin. An older gent sold it to me. I think it is a perfect match but that is my opinion. I sent a snipit to Hemi but he didn't really say yay or nay. It is darker that the dash and lighter than the parts that never get direct sunlight. VERY soft and supple. Almost suitable for glove leaather. It is NOT the original brand leather.
  9. Any decent parts store should sell it. Do one line at a time. Make sure you install any restrictors in the same place pointing the same direction. (I have 6 TDs from 85 up. I'm not sure if the TC has restrictors or one way valves in lines.)
  10. Once you get to this point just make a new bookmark. congrats. It looks like you are about #7 to find their way back here to the now secret clubhouse.
  11. I just found the new site. My old bookmark didn't work. The text box runs off the end of the screen. I'm guessing it will be a while before some realize their old bookmark doesn't work.
  12. There is a new Yahoo group for shipping parts. The group owner just replied to my inquiry about car parts. It may work for you...or not. Quote Yes, anyone can join, the more the better. Put our group link in those groups or let those members know. As long as they have a yahoo ID then they can join http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Point_A-Z_Transportation/ As long as they fill out why they want to join, no problem. As long as they are not spammers and want to follow our group guidelines. That is why IO created the group so members can help each other. Does not matter if it is a tractor or car parts or what ever. As long as it is legal Joe (Owner) End Quote
  13. It's a stupid idea to try to get a few extra mpg from an automatic 8 valve engine.
  14. Thanks for the thanks. Glad to help. Did you do it yourself or let the mechanic have an excuse for cussing? I'm doing a 2.2 with a lockup 670 transmission and MPGMike ported head with oversize valves, and TU header, swingvalve, and exhaust on my daily driver just to see how many mpg I can get from the 8 valves.
  15. <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">I really need to drive another TC. I think mine would come apart at the seams like Clouseau's 'Silver Hornet" at those speeds. I think my hot sMEC really dumps in the fuel-smells like unburned HCs at a light while idling. Sure goes like stink when the blower starts to spin though. </div></div> I hope you still have the old one for passing emmissions. I ran a car through emmissions with an EARLY Neil Emiro cal and the line went straight up off the scale and didn't reappear till the end of the test. The early cals dumped a lot of fuel in for safety. Some of the newer ones are better but you need the gauges to know if you are running too lean.
  16. Here is some info elsewhere about running pig rich. http://www.turbododge.com/forums/f4/f14/135599-running-extremely-rich.html
  17. Before donating, try these sites. http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/cmps_index.php http://www.turbododge.com/forums/ I think quite a few charities just crush the cars and sell a pollution credit to the utilities or other polluters. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
  18. My guess is the O2 sensor. It directly controls the fuel amount. Only use the Mopar one. Chryslers don't like the Bosch ones. You are washing down the cylinder walls with that amount of gas being dumped and probably overtaxing the cat which would be trying to burn it. IE don't drive it that way. As for replacing the O2, let a pro do it. They get "welded in" on turbos and are almost impossible to remove. The O2 sockets they sell probably won't work. I just smash the top part off and use a box wrench with one end cut off. I slip a bent piece of conduit on the wrench and pop it loose. It is basically a five foot breaker bar. With this setup I can get it out from the top without getting dirty. How many miles on the car, and did you check for engine codes? A sniffer in the tail pipe can tell if that's where the gas is going, and an infrared non contact thermometer can check the temp at the front and rear of the cat.
  19. Thanks Peter, one question. What photo formats are acceptable. I just tried to upload my old Studebaker and the format was not acceptable. It is a jpeg image.
  20. the album is empty but says 2 photos. I tried it for the heck of it and the photo doesn't upload according to my modem. the first two attempts shut down the forum window on my computer. Uh....maybe we should shut off some cookie security? Or add the site to the "approved list"? Thanks for setting it up. Just a little more help and Twincam can post the meet photos! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
  21. ere is a link to a turbo Chrysler group in the UK. They might be of some help. As far as I know no one there has a TC but they might be of assistance to you. They might be willing to work on your TC for (free?) <a href="Hhttp://www.front-runners.net/" target="_blank">Hhttp://www.front-runners.net/</a>
  22. Other groups here have photo galleries. I have contacted several members of AACA to no avail. Maybe you can have them check. Top of the page has a button for Photo Gallery.
  23. Great thread. I have a couple of thoughts. 1. My 89 leather appears to have been very supple when new. I found some new Italian leather in a good color match. It's slightly darker than the sun exposed areas and a good match for the areas sun never hits. What years are the poster's cars with the hard leather? Mine is just rotted on the seats. 2. Neatsfoot oil was devised to combat the acid sweat of mules. I also read about British furniture conservators using potasium lactate to counteract the acid in the air. 3. I think there are 2 methods of tanning. Acid and vegetable tanning. From all the TC seats I have seen, I would guess the leather was acid tanned. 4. I still have most of a gallon of neatsfoot oil from a long time ago when I restored player pianos. Thus the reason for my having some knowledge of leather. It absorbs readily in the dash on my TC as it should.
