  1. I think Dragon Red is the color . I will check to see if my friend still has the formula , we painted his Coupe that color.

I talked to him and we didn't have a formula. The underside of the cowl vent lid still had a good sample of what Dragon Red looked like so we had the paint supplier to match using the sample.

  2. The hardware on this seat is different from my 39 . I knew the pleats went all the way across on the 39 and has no buttons. Im guessing 38 or 40 maybe someone can confirm this. Its for sale and I was going to buy it untill I seen it wasnt a 39.

  3. When you start the reassembly of the synchro clutch with the new teflon pads stick the sun gear through both halves of the synchro clutch so the splines will be in alignment . Once you get those springs and pads in there you wont be able to turn it to align it.

  4. I ve wondered the same thing my self .Could use the smaller early V12 rods and offset grind the later larger journal crank, dont know how much could be gained, may not be worth the expense .Will also call for a special set of pistons .

  5. I have installed the drain tube in a V12. If you look at the rear of the engine with the oil pump idler gear cover removed you will see a hole in there. I installed a section of brake tubing that fit inside the hole and flared the end to keep it from coming through. You will need to put a 90 degree bend to angle it to the oil pan and its long enough to almost reach the pickup screen. To secure it I made a tab and soldered it to the tube and secured it under the oil pump hold down bolt. I did this modification and Im not sure it it really does any good but it surely hasnt done any harm.

  6. If you are refering to the tag on the firewall, that isnt the VIN number. Its a body number, the VIN is stamped on the frame rail close to the front cross member. But to answer your question, I know of no source for a replacement.

  7. Reaching out for an outline tracing of a Lincoln intake manifold, sold mine too soon to get a pattern for masking my block for painting. Block is a 1948, I will pay for postage and your time.
