  1. Hi- I have the exact car you are talking about...I am actually thinking of selling it if you are interested. I can't obtain any information on production numbers, but it is a rare car. In 1972 the 442 model per se no longer was produced, it came as an option package. In 1970-71 The Cutlass SX existed, and I am sure there are producton numbers available. Like I was told, think how many of these cars you have seen or heard of and you get an idea....not too many. Bob Thegift23@yahoo.com
  2. Thunder- not to beat a dead horse, but I noticed my last link was for a 98, and I believe you were sentimentally attached to a Delta 88. So here goes! OLDS: 1971 Delta 88, 4 dr, 455 V8, good cond, $2250/bo (315) 986-8154 Local Classified from NY. My point is, wherever you are located, there are good Olds' to be found! All of my Oldsmobiles have had conventional points, and I have never experienced any of the issues that you have had. As far as the AC issue is concerned, I'll let the experts get you that info. Good Luck! Bob
  3. Thunder- Here is a perfect example of what can be found for an excellant price. http://adcache.collectorcartraderonline.com/10/2/4/50387624.htm Check it out! Bob
  4. Hi- Can anyone help me determine if 1972 paint color code 75 (Rally Red) was a special order for that year? The car I just purchased was billed as matador red and even said so on the original window sticker...pulled the build sheet and verified the trim tag this evening as code 75. Thanks- Bob
  5. RR- Don't feel to badly..it's guys like you that make the Olds hobby enjoyable for relative "newbies" like myself. It has been 4 years (and 3 Oldsmobiles) since I re-upped with Oldsmobiles (parents sold our 69 442 to buy a camper back in the mid 70's, I have never been right since!) and I must say the people make the difference. Just like you, I always feel better helping a fellow Olds-man out with a needed part rather than tripling my investment on the auction site. Keep up the good work. Now, if you would only be so kind as to publish that secret Email address of yours! BW
  6. From one of my past projects (I did not pay too much attention) I have left over what I assumed to be 14 x 6 black steel wheels, the kind covered by hubcaps. Well, in cleaning out the garage and contemplating the scrap yard, I looked closer - they are 14 x 5, with no markings other than "799 K" I think. I'll try and attach a pic...what are these for, and are they worht anything to anyone? I am not looking for gold, just potential trade bait. Thanks in advance-Thegift23@yahoo.com BW
  7. It all depends. My last set I bought for 100$, and also sold a set for that amount. Of course, these did not have tires. Shipping would be a major problem with the tires mounted. Unfortunately, these wheels do not bring a premium, and are rather plentiful. Good Luck- Bob
  8. Good to hear someone is enjoying some decent weather...here in the East it rains about every other day. 5 Friday night Cruises have been doused, and it appears no end is in site. My Oldsmobiles wait patiently in the Garage... <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

  10. Could anyone tell me the production numbers (total units) on a 1972 Cutlass Supreme Hardtop factory equipped with a 455/400 package? This is a U-coded vin number. I know there were less than 100 units produced of both V-coded (4 spd) big block Supremes (convert and hardtop). I am just curious to see how rare this option was back in 1972. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Bob Thegift23@yahoo.com
