  1. PRICE JUST REDUCED TO $100, plus the shipping. This is an original GM accessory rubber trunk mat. It's designed to lay on top of the standard factory trunk carpet. Very lightly used. Fits 1979-1985 OLDSMOBILE TORONADO. May also fit other OLDSMOBILE's of this approximate vintage. This mat measures 46" across at its widest point and 28-3/4" front to back. Note the factory relief in the mat to accommodate the trunk latch tower. I removed this GM accessory trunk mat from the trunk of a low-mileage car many years ago. The mat is in very good condition. Very flexible, no wear evident, only lightly used for a few years early in its life. The price is $120, plus the shipping. Thanks for looking. John

  9. This is an original equipment DELCO-REMY headlight switch for 1941 to 1949 BUICK. Part # 1995016. Fits 1941 to 1948 BUICK, all series, and 1949 BUICK, 40 series. Excellent condition and tested. I have also chemically cleaned and lubricated the internal brass contacts. To my surprise, I found this 1941-1949 headlight switch inside a DELCO-REMY box for a 1939 BUICK headlight switch! I don't think its NOS, but it was super clean and worked fine, even before I did the internal cleaning and lube. It might be good to have a spare on the shelf, guys. The price is $50, plus the shipping. John
  10. This is a quality NORS 1949 and 1950 FORD Rear Transmission mount. Still in the original box. For all models, including six and V8, 3-speed and overdrive transmission. FYI: On overdrive cars the mount points toward the rear of the car...On conventional tranny cars, it points toward the front. I have THREE of these available, in case you want more than one. $23 each, plus the shipping.

  13. As the original poster, I can say it is very good to get your personal update about Paul's. Thank you, and good luck with your new business. John
  14. Interesting these Pontiac's were shipped from the factory with the hubcaps installed on the wheels. I wonder if that was the industry practice in the 1930's and possibly the 1940's. Not sure about all new cars of a later vintage, but I believe it was common in the '50's and '60's to factory ship with the hubcaps in the trunk. John
  15. I'm willing to bet the lifters BOB's is selling are made in CHINA, as well. It appears they peddle a lot of parts sourced there. Not condemning them...just stating what has become a fact of life in the auto parts world these days. I would stick with having your original lifters refaced. I read a post a couple of weeks ago (I think it was on the V8 BUICK forum) where guys were talking about this exact topic. Someone had used an experienced shop out west (I believe) that did an exceptional job on the refacing. I think the price was about $6 per lifter for the work. The consensus of all the guys commenting on that posting was that ALL of today's new flat tappet cam lifters were sh-t. Most came from China, some from Mexico (with these POSSIBLY being better quality). Hardness problems. Also, many right out of the box were found to be defectively ground on the bottom, so the lifter wouldn't rotate, when in operation. A recipe for a ruined cam after 300 to 600 miles, guys were indicating. John
  16. So many posts about this car....and yet, we've never received any first-hand information from someone who went and looked at the car in person. After all, its been for sale for TEN MONTHS. John
  17. Yes, a good point about the function of the hard-to-find Rudge Whitworth wrench I have for sale. I should have remembered the ring nut comes off with a special spanner. I've attached a photo of a typical one. John

  21. I have three original factory literature pieces for the 1939 BUICK, all series. The first is a unique dealer salesman's fact card. The second two were included in the 1939 BUICK glovebox for the new car's owner. Many of these pieces were discarded within a few years, it seems. I have for sale the following: --1939 BUICK Salesman's Car and Accessories price list card from Homestead BUICK in Homestead, PA. Prices shown for all '39 models. Interesting factory accessory info on the flip side. Excellent condition. $10 --1939 BUICK Owner's Welcome Letter from the BUICK general sales manager in Flint. This two-page letter was included with the owner's manual in the new car's glovebox. This is a '39 literature item that's seldom seen (usually tossed by the new owner). Excellent condition. $10 --1939 BUICK Chassis Lube Guide. Inserted as a loose item inside the back cover of the '39 owner's manual. included lubrication mileage intervals and lube products to be used. Many were tossed by the second or third owners over the years. Excellent condition. $10 As shown, each of these interesting original 1939 BUICK pieces is priced at $10 each, plus the shipping. Thanks for looking. John
