  1. Hey All!

The <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:Street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on">1991 Park Avenue</st1:address></st1:Street> with 26000 miles arrived today finally by transport and I can't be more pleasantly surprised. The vehicle is the most "like new" automobile I have come across... there are only three marks on the vehicle that can be erased with a good polishing and the interior still smells new. Since the transport company delivered door to door I parked the Buick in the driveway to check it over with a fine tooth comb and found almost NO issues in or out yet BUT I had to check out the trunk... I might have been the first one to open the trunk in years or just my bad luck but it opened perfectly with the key fob however when I went to latch it to the electric trunk mechanism it does not hold on... needless to say the Park Ave is now in the garage until I figure out how to fix the latch or get a new one. Anyone have a suggestion to fix it or the part number so I can order a new one. I will not be driving the Buick until I flush out all the 20 year old fluids so I have plenty of time. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Thanks, I will be posting pictures soon as I clean and polish it up. <o:p></o:p>

  2. I have come across a 1991 Buick Park Avenue with just 26,000 miles on it priced @ $2,800. The Buick is artic white with Blue interior...does not have leather BUT is in "like new" Condition and has original window sticker with it. I undersand its hard to put a value in this car however... I would like to hear some honest opinions... Is this a good deal or should I pass?

Thanks for your help in my decision...

I just received your info from the seller in CT and now see your posting here on the forum....This was MY Reatta until 2006 when I sold it to a soldier in Havelock, NC... actually he purchased it while he was in Iraq still on active duty and I held it for him until he returned home from duty. He evidently took it with him to CT afterwards. When I sold this car it was in next to perfect condition and was always garage kept and Buick Dealer maintained in Charlotte @ Folger Buick and I used to show twice a year at the Food Lion Auto Show here @ Charlotte Motor speedway and a few times in a local show in Lenoir. I even actually contacted the soldier that I sold it to over a year ago and asked if he was looking to sell it and he would consider it but then I lost contact with him.. until now I finally see my old Reatta here again. <o:p></o:p>

BOY, a bit of a shadow if what she used to look like and... Is that rust that I see??? AAHHHHHH I did not even try to drive this car in the rain...what has happened in just a few short years? I guess the salt in CT has done something BUT it has only been 4 years max...? It MUST ONLY be surface; I did not have a speck of rust anywhere. <o:p></o:p>

Other than my shock as disappointment at some of the pictures my old Reatta still looks like a gem in the ruff and a survivor and as you mentioned runs smooth as new still. <o:p></o:p>

As a sentimental value this car is priceless as I remember taking my daughter at a young age for short drives and he being so excited to ride in " the special car" to weekend getaways with the wife to Charleston, SC to showing off my Reatta at the car shows while speaking with folks all about the unique qualities of the timeless classic. <o:p></o:p>

Here are a few pictures of my a few short years ago Reatta.<o:p></o:p>

    I'll be in touch.<o:p></o:p>

  4. AWESOME Trip Matt!

I congratulate you as well as envy your trip across the country and back with your Reatta. I have always dreamed of such a trip with what the best personal car to do the trip with and you nailed it. If only you could package the feeling of pride and accomplishment of touring this beautiful country in a truly beautiful American Hand-Made Buick Reatta!

    Again, AWESOME!

  5. I have had great finds in the past on EBay (about 7 years ago when I purchased a 1989 Reatta from California and had it transported home, exactly as described and even better then expected, however, I understand your frustration with driving hours to look at a Reatta that was advertised as only 46,000 miles 1989 "Rarely" driven and garaged its entire life except for about 3 years.....? When I arrived the Interior was admittedly in great condition with of course the drooping headliner. However from the description of the paint on the phone I and in the pictures posted on EBay & in reality was completely disconnected. The paint on the car was so shot that it literary came off with my finger when rubbed...? I have never seen that before, the tail light was also so sun damaged it was cracked from the inside out, not to mention that there was an undisclosed fender bender in the right front of the Reatta that cracked the rubber body molding that runs across the front of the car between the bumper and hood. Not to mention the extreme deep paint chips around the wheel wells for a rarely driven Reatta that was always garaged??

From the pictures sent via e-mail of the interior I noticed that the ABS light was on and inquired and was told that was nothing wrong with the brakes just a “short” in the dash??? We all know what that could mean... Also it was disclosed that the transmission was new due to the infrequent driving of the vehicle.... (@ Only 40,000 miles?) Needless to say what was possibly too good to be true definitely was this time.

EBay is NOT what it once was but if your careful enough you can still find what you need @ a reasonably $ Buyer BEWARE ALWAYS!

  6. I have decided to switch our my 1997 Olds Bravada side view mirrors with the more stable and solid 1999 side view mirrors. Has anyone done this beore and will they have the same exact mounting configuration. The doors themselves are exactely the same . I can't imagin ethat the montounting configuration would have been changed. The other issus I am wondering about is the heated option that comes standard on the 1999. WIll the connection plug be the same and will the heated option be a drain on the battery since the 1997 did not come with that option?

    Thanks for your assistance.
